Mixed Bunch - Double Time Stamping

I call this the technique on this card Double Time Stamping; little sister to triple time stamping that was all over blogland a couple of years ago.  I've made a few of them at Card Buffets.  Here is one example.

To get the image to meet up on both pieces of Whisper White Card card stock, I put a tiny piece of snail adhesive on the back of the smaller piece and placed it on the bigger piece.  Stamp.  There was  a small blank area all around the smaller piece where the ink didn't get on the bigger piece.  That's ok because the Night of Navy mat covered that up.

I used the same technique on the inside of the card:

Age Awareness Birthday Card

This is my first photopolymer stamp set.  I love it!  I can't believe how well the stamps stick to the acrylic blocks!  And it's so nice to see exactly where I'll be stamping.  The "happy" and "birthday" are individual stamps, but I was able to place them on the same block and stamp at once.  No problems with laligning or spacing!

The ink does stain the stamps, though.  :0(

I looove the new Large Polka Dot embossing folder, too!  The size difference between framelits is often larger than I want for a mat.  So I cut the white card stock (after stamping, of course) with a labels collection framelit.  I adhered it to a rectangular piece of real red card stock and hand cut the red around the white.

Project Life: Road Trip to Washington, DC

This is the second layout I did with Project Life.  It's so fun and easy, plus I actually have photos documented and in a place my family can enjoy (other than just my phone).  I can't wait to add Project Life to my regular crafting routine.

My cousin's daughter got married last year in Annapolis, MD.  It just so happens that our son lives in Silver Spring, MD and works in Washington, DC.   Perfect reasons for a road trip.  So Jeff and I loaded up my parents and our granddaughter and headed east for a long holiday weekend (Memorial Day).  While there, we went on a open top bus tour.

Strawberry Cupcake Birthday Card

I think cupcake cards are my favorite birthday cards to make.  Maybe it's just me, but I think cupcakes just scream, "Happy Birthday!"  Balloons make good birthday cards, too.

BTW, this is my 1,000th blog post.  One Thousand.  Wow!

Thoughts of You ... Rain or Shine

I love this stamp set (and this card).  For some reason, I had been wanting a stamp set with an umbrella.  When Stampin' Up! offered Rain or Shine in the Occasions Catalog last year, I didn't even have to think about whether I would order it.  And when I last purged retired stamp sets, it stayed.

And I love the simplicity and cuteness of this card.  I offered it at my June and July Card Buffets and I've already used up the leftover kits and my samples.

Masking Technique with Regarding Dahlias

This card is a little plain, yet pretty striking.  No dimensionals or embellishments is so rare for me.  I couldn't believe how flat it was in the envelope.  Lol.

This was the first time that several stampers at my Card Buffet had ever made a mask to stamp multiple layers.  I guess it's one of those forgotten techniques.

The stamped dahlia appears larger on the inside that what it really is.  I stamped part of it in the corner; and a little more on a corner of the envelope.

CASEd from here.

Stamps Sets:  Sweet Sentiments, Regarding Dahlias
Card Stock:  whisper white, perfect plum, copy paper (to make mask)
Stamp Pad:  perfect plum
