Secret Garden Thanksgiving Mum

I made this card with black, white and red.  I wanted it to look like a poinsettia, but it just wasn't right. I sent a picture to my daughter and she said it looked like a daisy.  Rats - suspicion confirmed.  I changed the colors and added a layer to the flower hoping it would like a mum.  I guess it worked because it was fairly popular at the Card Buffets.

Version 1:

Stamp Sets:  Secret Garden, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock:  early espresso, old olive, cajun craze
Stamp Pads:  early espresso, cajun craze

Delicate Doilies Split Window Card

This Card Buffet card was fun (and quick) to make.  We stamped the doilies on a 4.5" x 3.75" piece of white card stock then cut it into thirds.  Then we stamped the words (to make sure they were in each section when cut).

Stamp Sets:  Delicate Doilies, Fabulous Phrases
Card Stock:  wisteria wonder, melon mambo, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  wisteria wonder, melon mambo, pumpkin pie
Other:  rhinestones

Oh, Hello Gorgeous Grunge

Here's another card from my September and October card buffets.  Very clean and cheerful!

This is the first time I used the new chevron ribbon for a workshop card.  I love the ribbon - it's trendy and easy to work with.  But it also drives me crazy because it has the optical illusion that it gets narrower on one end.  I was so glad that everyone agreed with me and I'm not going crazy!

CASEd from this card at ARTfelt Impressions.

Stamp Sets:  Oh, Hello and Gorgeous Grunge
Card Stock:  whisper white, bermuda bay, tangerine tango
Stamp Pads:  smoky slate, bermuda bay, tangerine tango
Other:  1-3/4" circle punch, circle framelits, 2-3/8" scallop circle punch, dimensionals, smoky slate chevron ribbon.

File Folder Halloween Card ... and a quilt

As soon as I saw the new Stampin' Up! Envelope Punch Board, I wanted one.  I'm not sure why - I'm really not into making my own envelopes and I tend to not use great big pieces of designer paper at once.  But I still ordered it.  Then I saw some awesome file folder cards and knew what my first project would be.  I finally got around to making some last weekend.  They were so fun and very easy!!  Here's a video.  Thank you Patty Bennett.

Stamp Sets:  Tags 4 You, Happy Day, Spooky Bingo Bits (retired)
Card Stock:  pumpkin pie, basic black, whisper white, witches' brew dsp
Stamp Pads:  black stazon, pumpkin pie, versa mark
Other:  envelope punch board, label bracket punch, black embossing powder, heat tool, pumpkin pie chevron ribbon.

Another Halloween project was a quilt.  I wouldn't say that I celebrate Halloween, but when I saw this quilt on Pinterest, I wanted one.  I had already made a chevron quilt this year using squares (as opposed to triangles) so I knew it would be easy.  It was fun going to my LQS to pick out 19 different fabrics.  Those ladies are so patient with me!

Some of the orange fabrics look neon in the pictures, but they aren't.  And the one that looks yellow is actually green.  If you've been to my blog before, you know how much I love photography (not!).  Anyway, I absolutely love this little quilt.  It measure approximately 45" x 67".

I just did simple straight line quilting (well kind of straight ☺) and cut my binding on the bias (that was a first).

Washi Tape Halloween

I'm not sure if it's really true that late is better than never.  In the case of sharing a Halloween card after Halloween, I justified it that you can save the idea for next year.  Right?  At least the products are still available.

This is one of the cards that I made to mail to some friends.  It's cute and mailed with just one postage stamp.  It also didn't hurt that it was quick to make (and the Washi Tape had been on sale).

The card that I CASEd had orange glitter brads.  I didn't have enough to make several cards, so I colored my rhinestones with a permanent orange marker (they look kind of pink in the picture, but they aren't).

Stamp Set:  Halloween Bash
Card Stock:  basic gray, pumpkin pie, very vanilla
Stamp Pad:  black stazon
Other:  scallop oval punch, designer label punch, dimensionals, witches' brew washi tape, linen thread, rhinestones, orange marker (non SU).
