Wonderfall Triple Layers

Back by popular demand:  Triple Layer Card.  I don't think we'll get tired of this layout anytime soon.  It's the third time I offered a card like this in the past 15 months and it was still wildly popular.

Stamp Pads:  pumpkin pie, crushed curry, soft suede
Other:  very vanilla seam binding ribbon, dimensionals

Secret Garden Thanksgiving Mum

I made this card with black, white and red.  I wanted it to look like a poinsettia, but it just wasn't right. I sent a picture to my daughter and she said it looked like a daisy.  Rats - suspicion confirmed.  I changed the colors and added a layer to the flower hoping it would like a mum.  I guess it worked because it was fairly popular at the Card Buffets.

Version 1:

Version 2:

Stamp Sets:  Secret Garden, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock:  early espresso, old olive, cajun craze
Stamp Pads:  early espresso, cajun craze
Other:  secret garden framelits, big shot, simply scored, dimensionals, rhinestone.

Delicate Doilies Split Window Card

This Card Buffet card was fun (and quick) to make.  We stamped the doilies on a 4.5" x 3.75" piece of white card stock then cut it into thirds.  Then we stamped the words (to make sure they were in each section when cut).

Stamp Sets:  Delicate Doilies, Fabulous Phrases
Card Stock:  wisteria wonder, melon mambo, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  wisteria wonder, melon mambo, pumpkin pie
Other:  rhinestones

Oh, Hello Gorgeous Grunge

Here's another card from my September and October card buffets.  Very clean and cheerful!

This is the first time I used the new chevron ribbon for a workshop card.  I love the ribbon - it's trendy and easy to work with.  But it also drives me crazy because it has the optical illusion that it gets narrower on one end.  I was so glad that everyone agreed with me and I'm not going crazy!

CASEd from this card at ARTfelt Impressions.

Stamp Sets:  Oh, Hello and Gorgeous Grunge
Card Stock:  whisper white, bermuda bay, tangerine tango
Stamp Pads:  smoky slate, bermuda bay, tangerine tango
Other:  1-3/4" circle punch, circle framelits, 2-3/8" scallop circle punch, dimensionals, smoky slate chevron ribbon.

File Folder Halloween Card ... and a quilt

As soon as I saw the new Stampin' Up! Envelope Punch Board, I wanted one.  I'm not sure why - I'm really not into making my own envelopes and I tend to not use great big pieces of designer paper at once.  But I still ordered it.  Then I saw some awesome file folder cards and knew what my first project would be.  I finally got around to making some last weekend.  They were so fun and very easy!!  Here's a video.  Thank you Patty Bennett.

Stamp Sets:  Tags 4 You, Happy Day, Spooky Bingo Bits (retired)
Card Stock:  pumpkin pie, basic black, whisper white, witches' brew dsp
Stamp Pads:  black stazon, pumpkin pie, versa mark
Other:  envelope punch board, label bracket punch, black embossing powder, heat tool, pumpkin pie chevron ribbon.

Another Halloween project was a quilt.  I wouldn't say that I celebrate Halloween, but when I saw this quilt on Pinterest, I wanted one.  I had already made a chevron quilt this year using squares (as opposed to triangles) so I knew it would be easy.  It was fun going to my LQS to pick out 19 different fabrics.  Those ladies are so patient with me!

Some of the orange fabrics look neon in the pictures, but they aren't.  And the one that looks yellow is actually green.  If you've been to my blog before, you know how much I love photography (not!).  Anyway, I absolutely love this little quilt.  It measure approximately 45" x 67".

I just did simple straight line quilting (well kind of straight ☺) and cut my binding on the bias (that was a first).

Washi Tape Halloween

I'm not sure if it's really true that late is better than never.  In the case of sharing a Halloween card after Halloween, I justified it that you can save the idea for next year.  Right?  At least the products are still available.

This is one of the cards that I made to mail to some friends.  It's cute and mailed with just one postage stamp.  It also didn't hurt that it was quick to make (and the Washi Tape had been on sale).

The card that I CASEd had orange glitter brads.  I didn't have enough to make several cards, so I colored my rhinestones with a permanent orange marker (they look kind of pink in the picture, but they aren't).

Stamp Set:  Halloween Bash
Card Stock:  basic gray, pumpkin pie, very vanilla
Stamp Pad:  black stazon
Other:  scallop oval punch, designer label punch, dimensionals, witches' brew washi tape, linen thread, rhinestones, orange marker (non SU).

Since I've never used my Make a Cake stamp set for a Card Buffet, I decided it was time.  While I was working on that, I whipped up a few cards for my own stash.  I thought this card from BadaBingCrafting was so cute, I was willing to cut into my small hoarded stash of retired Baja Breeze card stock to make it.

Stamp Sets:  Make a Cake, Made for You
Card Stock:  baja breeze, midnight muse, primrose petals, whisper white, patio party dsp
Stamp Pads:  primrose petals, midnight muse
Other:  2-1/2" circle punch, scallop dotted ribbon punch, pennants die, itty bitty punch pack, pearl, dimensionals.

Betsy's Blossoms Postage Squares

I just love how this card turned out!  It's a little of an "old fashioned" layout, but I still love it!  When I make cards, I line them up in the bay window in my kitchen until I photograph them.  Seeing this card and another one with made with the same stamp set just brightened up the room and made me smile.

I  CASEd this card, but added little tweaks from this card.

Stamp Sets:  Betsy's Blossoms, Lots of Thanks
Card Stock:  crumb cake, whisper white, island indigo, real red, daffodil delight, wild wasabi
Stamp Pads:  island indigo, real red, daffodil delight, wild wasabi
Other:  daffodil delight 1/4" stitched grosgrain ribbon, postage stamp punch, 1-1/4" square punch (retired), rhinestones, dimensionals.

Mosaic Madness Get Well

I had made a card with Mosaic Madness for my next card buffet.  While the stamps were still on my counter, I wanted to use it to make something for my personal card stash.  I must subconsciously think that if I use the same stamp set for two consecutive cards, it helps justify the purchase.  Haha!

I CASEd this bright and cheery card from Badabing.  The colors are actually soft; 2013-2015 In Colors coastal cabana, crisp cantaloupe with so saffron.  The original card photographed bright - and low and behold, so did mine.  Don't know what's up with that.  The card is more tranquil that it appears!

Stamp Sets:  Mosaic Madness, Express Yourself
Card Stock:  coastal cabana, crisp cantaloupe, so saffron, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  coastal cabana, crisp cantaloupe, so saffron
Other:  mosaic punch, mosaic embossing folder, big shot, dimensionals, crisp cantaloupe ruffled ribbon.

Fifth Avenue Floral Thank You

I stumbled onto this card by Mary Fish on Pinterest and really liked it.  It happened to be during the few days I was setting up for my annual retirement sale and the stamp set used, Fifth Avenue Floral, was already priced and on the table to sell.  So I cut card stock, stamped, and returned the stamps to the sale table before it was too late.  ☺  That was 3 months ago.  I just got around to finishing them up last week.  I made 4 for Thank You and 4 for Anniversary.

The designer paper and satin ribbon are also retired, but I still had a little bit in my stash.  Yay!

Stamp Sets:  Fifth Avenue Floral, Short & Sweet (both retired)
Card Stock:  real red, chocolate chip, whisper white, sweet pea designer stack (retired)
Stamp Pad:  chocolate chip
Other:  real red 5/8" sating ribbon (retired), real red marker, dimensionals, large oval and scallop oval punches.

Lacy & Lovely

My very good friend is the Mom Mentor for the MOPS group from her church.  She sends a welcome card to new members and ordered the supplies to get her cards ready for the new school year.  Then lightning struck (literally).  Since she can't get to her supplies right now and no longer lives close enough for our play dates, I made the cards for her and mailed them to her.  She had already picked this card to CASE.  There aren't layers, so even though she needed 30, they didn't take long to make.

Stamp Set:  Lacy & Lovely
Card Stock:  raspberry ripple, summer starfruit, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  raspberry ripple, summer starfruit, tempting turquoise
Other:  raspberry ripple and/or summer starfruit 1/2" stitched satin ribbon.

Jelly Roll Quilt

A break from stamping ...

Last year I spent a lot of time (and money LOL) learning how to quilt.  I took classes, scoured Pinterest and YouTube, accumulated tools and gadgets.  I made a couple of tops as well as a flannel rag quilt.  I bought another sewing machine in January and set the goal of completing (piecing and quilting!) one quilt per month.  This is the eighth one and I finished it in August.  On target!  My new friend, Amy (works at the local quilt shop) and I decided that if I fall behind, the 2 tables runners, 4 window valances, 8 place mats, 9 hanging calendar quilts and tote bags should count for at least one quilt.  Don't you agree?

The pattern is called May Flowers and it is from the book Jelly Roll Inspirations compiled by Pam and Nicky Lintott. The LQS I shop at makes their own black and white jelly rolls, so it's not any particular designer or brand.  The flowers are pieced from the strips and appliqued on the hot pink squares.  Then I just meander free motion quilted the whole thing.

This newest quilt now lives with my daughter.

Betsy's Blossoms Thank You Cards

My very good friend was in need of some Thank You cards.  She didn't have time to make them and she didn't have access to her stamping supplies anyway.  She needed them quickly, so I raided my stash and sent a stash right away.  Then later in the week, I made some more to send to her.  I wish we lived closer so I help her more, but at least this made me feel a tiny bit less helpless.  I know receiving them made her smile.

CASEd from here.  I didn't realize I took the picture just like the original until just now - funny!

Stamp Sets:  Betsy's Blossoms, Lots of Thanks
Card Stock:  whisper white, rich razzleberry, floral district dsp (retired)
Stamp Pad:  rich razzleberry
Other:  dimensionals.

Wild About You Alligator

One of my stamping friends that attends my Card Buffets requested a juvenile card.  There are two BIG reasons why I should not have offered this card; the stamp set is retired and the embossing folder is not Stampin' Up!  But it was so cute, and well ... I caved.  I am weak.  ☺

CASEd from this card.

Stamp Set:  Wild About You (retired - substitute Zoo Babies)
Card Stock:  wild wasabi, garden green, whisper white, real red
Stamp Pads:  wild wasabi, black stazon
Other:  basic black marker, small heart punch, some contraband embossing folder that is not nearly as nice as Stampin' Up! embossing folders, big shot, dimensionals.
