One Last Reason to Smile

OK - this may not be my last card made with the Reason to Smile stamp set, but this is the last day to be able to get your own set.

I am posting so late today.  It's been an odd day.  Do you ever feel like things are out of whack just because one appliance is on the fritz?  It's our dryer.  It's amazing how fast the laundry can pile up and we are even empty-nesters.  My ever-so-handy husband took it apart last night and tracked down the part for me to pick up after my haircut this morning.  Can you believe a part was $100 for a very expensive dryer that is only 4 years old?  Way to go Whirlpool!  Anyway, I walked into the appliance parts store this morning and the sales clerk was sitting at the counter reading his bible.  Cool!  With all the hostility towards Christians lately, this was great to see.  And who really cares about having a large appliance in many pieces and growing piles of laundry?!

International Bazaar Reason to Smile

I can't believe tomorrow is the last day of July already.  It's also the last day to order the Reason to Smile stamp set for only $5.

I really liked everything about this card from Splitcoast.  I had already used all of my medium sized pumpkin pie buttons.  The large ones were too large and the small ones were too small (sound like Goldilocks?), so I improvised.  I used a retired corduroy brad and retired SAB ribbon.  I think I like the original button and linen thread bow better than my version, but I doubt the recipient will think it looks bad (unless they read my blog).

I also used a really nice new greetings stamp set called Sweet Essentials.

Stamp Sets:  Reason to Smile, Sweet Essentials
Card Stock:  whisper white, international bazaar dsp
Stamp Pad:  pacific island
Other:  tangerine tango, daffodil delight and lucky limeade markers, pumpkin pie brad (use current button), SAB lucky limeade ribbon (use linen thread), dimensionals.

Just Add (Cup)Cake

I made this card a few months ago.  I was so excited when I made it and I can't believe I forgot to post it.  Looking at this card kind of makes me wonder how we (paper crafters) managed before all of these great punches came out.

Birthday on The Open Sea

Any man that is on our card list might get tired of this stamp set, but I just love it.  I am so glad it's now one of our regular sets.  I've used it a couple of times for my Card Buffets, and the cards are always a hit.  That could have something to do with so many women stampers struggle to come up with man cards.

This card was quick to stamp and assemble, but to get to that point, it did require several passes though the big shot.  Worth it, though!

Betsy's Blossoms & Curly Cute Thanks

This very cheerful card just rotated off of my Card Buffet.  There's quite a bit of hand-cutting but it went quickly.

Betsy's Blossoms is one of the new stamp sets that I thought I didn't need.  And you should see how many cards I now have pinned using it.  Ha!  Three on my blog already.

Penant Parade Ice Cream Card

This is a really fun, summer card.  One of the things that I think made it cool, is using two stamp sets for non-traditional uses.  The cone was made with a pennant stamp from Pennant Parade and the scoops of ice cream were made with the cupcake icing stamp from Create a Cupcake.

When I saw this card on Chic'n Scratch, I knew it would make a good summer Card Buffet card, but I thought it needed just a little something.  I added a large panel embossed with the new Argyle Embossing Folder and that did it.

Stamp Sets:  Create a Cupcake, Pennant Parade, Made for You
Card Stock:  real red, pool party, whisper white, red glimmer
Stamp Pads:  real red, pumpkin pie, pool party
Other:  argyle ef, big shot, cupcake builder punch, scallop edge punch, dimensional.

DSP Postage Square Scraps

This is a great layout to use up small pieces of designer paper.  It's one of the cards on my card buffet for June and July.

My particular card uses Everyday Elegance that I have left over from Sale-a-Bration, but you can use any designer paper.  It's so nice how you get 12 different designs in the Stampin' Up! paper packs that all coordinate.

Bootiful Occasions - When the Rain is Done

When I first saw the Bootiful Occasions stamp set in the new catalog, I wanted it.  But, for some reason, it's one of those stamp sets that I felt like I needed to justify.  Be certain I would use it.  Well...when there's a will, there's a way.  It now resides in my stamp collection.  ☺  And do date I have pinned twelve samples for it.  Yay!

CASEd from Goin' Over the Edge.

The stamp set comes with 4 different boot images with a sentiment under each.

I figured I would often want to stamp them separately.  Rather than mask part of the stamp or use markers to color the rubber, I cut the sentiments away from the boots.  Essentially, my stamp set now contains 9 stamps as opposed to the original 5.  I bought it in clear mount, therefore, if I want to stamp them as they came, I can mount two stamps to my clear block at once.  I hope this makes sense.

Stamp Set:  Bootiful Occasions
Card Stock:  whisper white, real red, daffodil delight, polka-dot parade dsp (marina mist)
Stamp Pads:  real red, marina mist
Other:  bashful blue marker, dimensionals, 2-1/2" circle punch, corner rounder punch, brights button, whisper white baker's twine, glue dot.

Raspberry Ripple - Reason to Smile!

Raspberry Ripple sounds like a yummy reason to smile to me!  With Stampin' Up!'s color names, it's no wonder stamping makes me hungry.  For example:  Pumkpin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade... need I go on?

Anyway - here's another card with the July special promotion stamp set:  Reason to Smile.  With an order of $50+,  order this set for $5 through July 31, 2012.

I'm glad the close-up photos show the use of my very fun, new toys:  Apothecary Framelits, and the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack.  Can you see the piercing bordering the right side of the die cut?

Reason to Smile Just $5

I just received my $5 Reason to Smile stamp set Wednesday.  Great deal!  Here's the first card I made with it.

I used a few more new goodies on this card.  Can you spot them?  Midnight Muse, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit are new 2012-2014 In-Colors,  The 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon is available in those same in colors (Midnight Muse used here).  I also used the new Finishing Touches Edgelit (looks like an eyelet border punch) on the Summer Starfruit card stock.

To purchase this stamp set for just $5, place a $50+ Stampin' Order! order by July 31, 2012.

Petite Pairs Birthday Circles

Here's a bright, sunny birthday card!  I mail a lot of birthday cards, plus make them for our church choir and for various fundraising events.  So when I made a birthday card I like, I usually make several (as in this case).  There were a lot of steps to mass produce, but that's fun.  Must be my math brain that like counting, sorting and piling.

I used my retired Triple Layer Blossom Punch.  I wasn't too surprised to see it retire - it can be a little tricky to use, and if you're not paying attention, easy to jam.  For this card, the medium flower in the Betsy's Blossom's stamp set would work great.  Switching to a stamp would also make this card more suitable for mailing.

CASEd from North Shore Stamper.

Stamp Sets:  Petite Pairs, God's Blessings, Betsy's Blossoms
Card Stock:  whisper white, riding hood red, so saffon, baja breeze
Stamp Pads:  riding hood red, baja breeze, so saffron
