Up, Up and Away

Here's a fun birthday card that was available for my Card Buffet in January and February.  It's pretty gender neutral (especially if you leave off the flower and rhinestone for a guy card).

I usually forget about Basic Gray - it really helps other colors pop.  It's not quite as dramatic as using Basic Black, but it's a nice change.

CASEd from one of my favorite blogs:  Artfelt Impressions.

Stamp Set:  Up, Up and Away
Card Stock:  basic gray, calypso coral, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  basic gray, calypso coral, pool party
Other:  pool party ruffled ribbon, dimensionals, itty bitty punch pack, rhinestones, perfect polka-dots ef, big shot.

Mini Monday - Bordering on Romance

Here's a card made with the stamp set Bordering on Romance that is available in the current Occasions Mini Catalog.  I like all of the stamps, but I mainly bought it for this great floral image.  Isn't it so pretty?!  Also from the mini, I used a Labels Collection Framelits Die.

I did kind of cheat and used designer paper from the retired hostess pack, BUT if you don't have that, you can still get Blushing Bride designer paper in the 2010-2012 In Color Paper Stack, Nursery Nest, and Twitterpated.  And I also took a short-cut on the envelope - instead of an aquapainter, I used markers.

I used a lot of Big Shot accessories on this card, too.  Lots of fun!

Seasonal Saturday - Bunny Bottom

It's a sunny day and Easter is just 4 weeks away.  I thought I would share an Easter card I made for my February and March Card Buffets.  Isn't if fun what you can create with punches?!

For the clouds and sky, I punched a 2-3/8" scalloped circle from card stock and used it for a stencil with a stampin' sponge and bashful blue stamp pad.

Flashback Friday - Because I Care

For this card, I pulled out two of my favorite retired stamp sets; Because I Care and Occasional Quotes.  They were both hostess sets.  Just like in clothing, I love pairing crumb cake (khaki) with white.  This card is very earthy, yet clean.

Have a great weekend!

Whatever Wednesday - Big Top Birthday

I needed a couple of young boy birthday cards for this month.  Can you guess how old they will be on the special days?  ☺  I think just about all cards are fun to make, but something made these extra-fun.   I hope you enjoy them, too.

When I ordered the Big Top designer paper, I figured it would be handy for kids' cards.  So far that's all I've used it for.  It's pretty busy paper - just like kids.

Wow - when I added this photo, the brads look so crooked.  I'm pretty sure they aren't that bad.  I used my mat pack with stencil and paper piercer to line them up.

Ten Minute Tuesday - Fresh Vintage

Sunday afternoon I was able to whip up lots of these beauties for my March order thank you cards.  I used the Fresh Vintage stamp set that is FREE during Sale-a-Bration.

After stamping, I used the oval frame from the Designer Embossing Frames set that is also a FREE option during Sale-a-Bration.  I found another way to use the folders on the center of a card without getting the lines from the edges of the folder.  Here's the youtube video.  This is much easier than the first way I found.  At first, I didn't think it was working because there was little to no resistance when I ran it all through the big shot.  But as you can see, the impressions are very nice.

Stampin' Up! currently has two special publications; the Occasions Mini Catalog and the Sale-a-Bration Brochure.  I am showing a card that features items from both.  The Mixed Bunch Stamp Set, Blossoms Punch and Edglits are from the Occasions Mini and I used FREE Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper from SAB.

Flirtatious Designer Fabric Keychain Wristlet

I am so hooked on Pinterest!!  It has fed my obsession for stamping, fueled my new hobby of crocheting and has now sparked a deisre to quilt and sew.  Ok, ok, I have found some great recipes and cleaning and organizing tips.  But really, it's mostly about the crafts for me.  How about you?

I finally got around to making one of my early pins.   I usually have my car key on a beaded bracelet.  I think it's handy and safer to have my key ready when walking through a parking lot.  This wristlet works the same.  I found this idea on Pinterest, but HERE is the direct link to the tutorial.

And what a great time to make your own - Stampin' Up! Flirtatious Designer Fabric is availabe FREE during Sale-a-Bration through March 31.

I used retired Rose Romance 1" stitched ribbon.  I found the hook thingat Hobby Lobby.  This was very quick and simple.  Great little gifts!  Wouldn't it be fun to make them in seasonal fabrics?
