Summer Silhouettes Sympathy

I don't like to need sympathy cards, but since I am a pretty active card sender and the need does arise, it's nice to have a couple on hand.
I used Summer Silhouettes on this card.  It is one of my favorites from the new Annual Catalog!  I also used Petite Pairs.  I've used it many times, but never the sympathy stamps.  The companion stamp on the inside says " heal your heart."
And what about that piercing?  I am loving the new Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack.  They make it so fun and easy to add a little extra touch.
I CASEd this card from Beth's card.  And she CASEd it from Debbie.  And Debbie's card will be on my next card buffet.  Follow that?

Stamp Sets:  Summer Silhouettes, Petite Pairs
Card Stock:  crumb cake, baja breeze, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  crumb cake, baja breeze, soft suede
Other:  essentials paper-piercing pack, paper piercer, mat, baja breeze pleated ribbon (retired - but baja breeze is available in other styles), dimensionals.

Folded Christmas Tree Card

I saw a few of these folded trees last year, but never got around to trying it.  Until this past weekend, that is.  I CASEd this card on Inkspired Treasures blog.  She has a pdf for the pattern for folding here.   I practiced with copy paper before messing up a piece of designer paper and my first one still isn't perfect.  You can see at the top left that I didn't folded it quite right.  But I still think the card is still presentable.
You need to cut a 5-14/" circle (I used an old non SU cutting system).  Then cut that circle in half and make 3 folds.  I had a scrap of the paper used on this card big enough for 1 circle which yielded 2 trees.  I had a whole sheet of another pattern from the same pack, which made 8 more trees.  After a few, I finally got it down.
The original card used a gold glitter brad for the top of the tree, but it just wasn't working for me.  I remembered that my new Holiday Framelits has a little star in it. So I used that with Silver Glimmer paper and I like it much better.

Stamp Set:  Christmas Greetings (retired)
Card Stock:  old olive, cherry cobbler, very vanilla, early espresso,  jolly holiday dsp (retired), silver glimmer paper
Stamp Pad:  cherry cobbler
Other:  basic rhinestones, dimensionals, old olive 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon (retired), linen thread, petals-a-plenty ef, holiday framelits, big shot.

Tulip Framed Fabulous Florets

The orange turned out a little bright in this photo.  It's actually Pumpkin Pie.  I think this is a great all-occasion card.  Keep Teeny Tiny Wishes handy and stamp a greeting as needed.   It's on the menu for the Card Buffet for August and September.

CASEd from here.

Stamp Set:  Fabulous Florets
Card Stock:  very vanilla, old olive
Stamp Pads:  old olive, pumpkin pie
Other:  tulip frame ef, big shot, pumpkin pie 1/8" taffeta ribbon, dimensionals.

Daffodil Mixed Bunch

This cheerful card was on the August Card Buffet (and is returning in September).  I was surprised what a big hit it was.  I think sometimes my guests might be like me and just just want quick and easy.  And when you can combine pretty in that mix, it's all the better!
The greeting is the Beautiful Birthday single stamp from the Annual Catalog.

CASEd from this card.

Stamp Sets:  Mixed Bunch, Beautiful Birthday
Card Stock:  whisper white, daffodil delight
Stamp Pads:  daffodil delight, summer starfruit
Other:  blossoms punch, 3/4" and 1" circle punches, rhinestones, dimensionals.

Aviary - Framed Bird Cage

Isn't this card so cute?  I love most cards made with this set.  I was particularly pleased with one I had made and I showed it to my daughter via phone.  She replied, "Awww.  Poor birdie".  I guess because it was caged.  I still think they are cute ... so I just don't show her any more.  Ha!

The original card used textured very vanilla card stock.  It's a very subtle contrast - elegant.  I had some old 12 x 12 textured sheets left over from a collage workshop, so I dug it out.

Stamp Set:  Aviary
Card Stock:  very vanilla smooth and textured, chocolate chip
Stamp Pads:  chocolate chip, old olive
Other:  designer frames ef, big shot, basic pearls, old olive 1-1.4" striped grosgrain ribbon (retired), dimensionals, old olive marker.

Betsy's Blossoms Triple Layer Card

Yesterday, I asked you to come back today for a "busier" (more colorful) triple layer card.

Here it is.  What do you think?

The largest blossom in the stamp set was stamped twice on scrap card stock; one was punched with the 2-3/8" scallop circle punch and the other with the 1-3/4" scallop circle punch.  Then they were layered with a dimensional in between.  The bird was also stamped twice; the right wing is popped up.

If you come to my blog often, you know it is very rare for me to not link back to the original project that I have CASEd.  This is one of those times.  I saw this card on Pinterest, but when I click it, it just enlarges the photo; it does not link to anywhere.  The pin says stampinpretty.typepad, but I can't find it on her blog, I don't think it's her style and she always watermarks here photos, so ...
Stamp Sets:  Betsy's Blossoms, Itty Bitty Banners
Card Stock:  early espresso, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  raspberry ripple, marina mist, summer starfruit, lucky limeade
Other:  1-3/4 and 2-3/8" scallop circle punches, basic pearls, bitty banners framelits, big shot, dimensionals.

Creative Elements Triple Layer Card

Triple Layer cards have been popping up all over the internet.  Some I like a lot; others not so much.  I think the technique/layout shows better when there aren't a lot of different stamps or colors used.  I stumbled on a tutorial on dostamping and I really liked her card!  I adapted it to include it on my August/September card buffet menu.  So if you like this card and missed the August buffet, you can make it here in September.  It uses the Creative Elements stamp set.  I was already thinking that I kind of needed that stamp set so I went ahead and ordered it - for the sake of my Card Buffets, of course.
I made this card 2 or 3 weeks ago.  Since then, a few of the "busier" triple layer cards have caught my eye.  Come back tomorrow to see one made with the popular new stamp set Betsy's Blossoms.

Check out this super short supply list!  (There are a lot of layers, though)

Stamp Set:  Creative Elements
Card Stock:  very vanilla, early espresso
Stamp Pad:  early espresso
Other:  very vanilla seam binding ribbon.

Pennant Parade Christmas Trees

I'm back with more Christmas cards.  I made 3 of these (and plan to make some more).  As it stands right now, I have 98 Christmas cards finished.  22 more to go.  I have an order with new goodies from the Holiday Catalog arriving Friday so maybe I will finish up this year's cards with new products.  It will be so nice to leisurely make Christmas crafts during the holidays this year rather than rushing at the last minute like I did last year.

I CASEd this card that I had seen on Pinterest. The only differences are I stamped the "tree" on white card stock (which I think makes it stand out a bit more) and I switched to the darker Garden Green for the card base and greeting.
Stamp Sets:  Pennant Parade, Curly Cute
Card Stock:  garden green, wild wasabi, whisper white, red glimmer
Stamp Pads:  early espresso, garden green
Other:  owl builder punch, pennant builder punch, petals-a-plenty ef, designer frames, ef, big shot, real red 1/4" stitched grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals.

Perfectly Preserved with a Twitterpated Lid

This is my first card with the new Perfectly Preserved stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.  I CASEd this card from Jill Hillard's blog.  It's such a fresh and clean card - my favorite kind to make on sunny days.  I actually made 4 of these.

I also used the Cannery Set Framelits Dies on this card.  They sure making cutting easy!  For each card, I used 5 framelits.  To make 4 cards, I did not have to crank the Big Shot 20 times.  Just once per card.  If you leave a little space between the stamped images, you can send all of the framelits through at once.  I used a small piece of painter's tape on each framelit to keep it centered over the stamped image.  Easy!

For the lid, I used Twitterpated Fabric (found on page 171 of the Annual Catalog).  I adhered a piece of an adhesive sheet to scrap card stock and then a piece of fabric to the adhesive (large enough piece to cut 4 lids).  I then used the framelit just like I normally do.  It cut perfectly!  How cute - a little fabric lid!

Stamp Set:  Perfectly Preserved
Card Stock:  whisper white
Stamp Pads:  black stazon, lucky limeade
Other:  cannery framelits, chevron ef, big shot, early espresso marker, twitterpated fabric, dimensionals, adhesive sheet, linen thread.

Moving Forward on a Bike

Each year, the stamp set to benefit Ronald McDonald Charities is really cute.  This year's is no exception to that.  It's whimsical, cute and fun.

Eventually, I will probably cut the sentiments and images apart for added versatility.  If I want them back together, I can always stick them on the block together.  Another advantage of the clear mount stamps!
And my first time to ink it up, I CASEd Debbie Currier from ARTfelt Impressions.

Stamp Set:  Moving Forward
Card Stock:  midnight muse, more mustard, whisper white, polka-dot parade dsp (rich razzleberry)
Stamp Pads:  midnight muse, rich razzleberry
Other:  basic rhinestones, itty bitty shapes punch pack, dimensionals, 2-1/2" circle punch, perfect pennants die, big shot, scallop dotted ribbon punch.

Beautiful Wings in Poppy Parade

As soon as I saw this card on Pinterest, I ran to my play room to see if I still had any of this designer paper left.  I did - yay!  I do realize that I could make it in another color or with another patterned paper, but this one is just perfect.  And who am I to mess with perfection?  Lucky me - I had a full 6x6 sheet, so I was able to make 3 of these beauties.

To make the frame, I just cut a piece of chipboard that came in a pack of Glimmer Paper 3/8" smaller than the Whisper White panel.  I stamped the sentiment and let it dry.  Then I laid my chipboard template over the Whisper White piece and traced it with the pointy end of my Basic Black Marker, stopping and starting at the words.  I wrote the measurements on the chipboard and saved it.

I used a stamp from Papillon Potpourri to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope.

Stamp Sets:  Papillon Potpourri, Sweet Essentials
Card Stock:  poppy parade (retired), whisper white, poppy parade dsp (retired hostess)
Stamp Pads:  poppy parade (retired), black stazon
Other:  perfect polka-dots ef, beautiful wings embosslit, big shot, poppy parade ribbon (retired), basic pearls, dimensionals.

Razzleberry Tea with Friends

I thought this card was so cute.  Bright, clean and cheery.  Right now it is in its second and final month on my card buffet and it has not been very popular.  Surprise to me!  A few people last month laughingly complained about tying on the little tags.  Although I suggested alternatives, I think they scared off other stampers.  Oh well, what can I say?  I still love the card!

Stamp Sets:  Tea Shoppe, Morning Cup, Tiny Tags
Card Stock:  rich razzleberry, whisper white, polka dot parade dsp
Stamp Pad:  rich razzleberry
Other:  rich razzleberry 1/4" stitched grosgrain ribbon, whisper white baker's twine, jewelry tag punch, scallop trim border punch.

Delicate Doilies Christmas Wreath

Again this summer, I was asked to have a Christmas card available on the card buffet.  I didn't have time to order from the new Holiday Catalog for the July card buffet, so I used an idea I had been saving from last year.  I just love the way Debra Currier used a stamp from the Delicate Doilies set to make a wreath.  So clever!  It has been a hit with the stampers at my buffets.  I'm hoping for some leftovers to make for myself, but it's looking like I will have to cut some more.

I know - shame on me for using a retired stamp set at a buffet, but it was perfect. Now I would use Greetings of the Season from the Holiday Catalog.

Stamp Sets:  Delicate Doilies, Christmas Greetings
Card Stock:  crumb cake, cherry cobbler, very vanilla
Stamp Pads:  cherry cobbler, old olive
Other:  1-3/8" circle punch, 2-3/8" scallop circle punch, cherry cobbler 1/2" seam binding ribbon, dimensionals, glue dot, basic rhinestones, Bic permanent marker (non SU!), stamping sponge or dauber.

Pennant Parade Birthday

I have a lot of friends with birthdays in August and September.  I know my birthday card supply will need restocked soon.  I had my Pennant Parade stamp set out to use the "hello" stamp on yesterday's card, so I decided to use it and make a few birthday cards.

The original card that I CASEd from Sweet Impressions had the hats covered with glitter.  I opted out of that and actually like the cleaner version better and thought it would be more gender nuetral.  I thought it was male appropriate, but then I just couldn't stop myself -- I had to add rhinestones to the pom-poms.  Do you think guys will think it's a sissy card?  ☺

I used retired Tangerine Tango striped ribbon. There is a current ribbon in that color; it's polka-dot and super cute as well.

Stamp Set:  Pennant Parade
Card Stock:  whisper white, lucky limeade
Stamp Pads:  tangerine tango, island indigo, lucky limeade
Other:  rhinestones, dimensionals, tangerine tango striped ribbon, linen thread, owl punch (for pom-pom circles), 1-3/4" circle punch, pennant builder punch, jewelry tag punch, stripes ef, big shot.
