Make a Mitten Trio

This is the first card I made after my little holiday stamping break and I love it!  Starting back with such a fun and cute card definitely made me want to keep stamping.  I made several of these to use as Christmas thank you note cards.

The Make-a-Mitten stamp set and Mitten Builder Punch are only available through January 2.

CASEd from this card.

Stamp Set:  Make-a-Mitten
Card Stock:  riding hood red, crumb cake, very vanilla
Stamp Pads:  riding hood red, crumb cake, illuminate glimmer watermark (rubbed over embossed snowflakes)
Other:  northern flurry ef, big shot, basic pearls, mitten builder punch, cherry cobbler baker's twine, glue dots, dimensionals.

Since you are visiting my blog, I figure you are a personal friend and/or a craft person and you might like to see some of the things I made over the holidays.  I'll try to remember to share things over the next few posts:

Wreaths:
I wanted to make one of these wreaths from Pinterest.  The frame I got was too small and looked lost on our front door, but I found the perfect spot in our powder bath (not where it was photographed).

This is the wreath we (wonderfully hubby and I) made for our front door.  I had tried to get ornaments on sale after Christmas last year but had no luck.  So I got these early at Target.  This wasn't quite as easy as the tutorials looked.  Here's one and here's another.  We had to go back for more ornaments and we still had little holes that bugged me.  So we ("we" meaning my Mr. Wonderful) cut up an old piece of garland and stuck the pieces in the holes.  All better!  Fortunately the glue held through the cold and none of the glass ornaments fell off.  I will store it in the house as opposed to the attic.

And finally, Emma (my 9 year old granddaughter) made these adorable little wreaths and tied them on Christmas gifts that she gave.  So sweet!  They are made from plastic shower curtain rings and yarn scraps.   Here's the tutorial.

Scentsational Season - Warmest Wishes with a Cup of Cocoa

These stamp and framelit sets were the first things to really catch my eye when I received my Holiday Catalog back in July.  My only regret with them is that I didn't use them more.  One of my annual stamping goals is to have my personal Christmas cards finished before the rush of the season - so I didn't need too many cards when I ordered these goodies.  But that's ok, because I am ready to start my 2013 Christmas cards and I'm sure I will be using (and sharing) Scentsational Season more.

I think the cup of cocoa image takes this stamp set beyond Christmas and to the whole winter season.  It pairs great with the "Warmest Wishes on your birthday" sentiment from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set.

Check the supply list below - bold items will only be available to order through January 2.

With a few changes, I CASEd this card.

Stamp Sets:  Scentsational Season, Blooming with Kindness
Card Stock:  early espresso, very vanilla, festival of prints designer paper stack
Stamp Pad:  early espresso
Other:  labels collection framelits, holiday collection framelits, snowburst ef (retired), big shot, festive paper piercing pack, piercing tool and mat, dimensionals.

Glimmery Snowflake Thank You Card

Hi there.  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

As much as I love to stamp, I certainly enjoyed my time off doing other things the past few weeks.  But I finally did make it back into my stampin' room a couple of days ago and have been getting lots of cards made.  My granddaughter is spending quite a bit of time with me during her school break.  I normally don't like to sit down at my PC and blog while she's here, but I've used some things that will only be available for a few more days and thought I better hurry and share. Soon-to-be-gone goodies are in bold on the supply list below.

FYI, the Holiday Catalog ends January 2.  A list of items that will carry over from the Holiday Catalog can be found on page 36 of the new Spring Catalog that begins January 3.

With a few minor changes, I CASEd this card.  It is much prettier in real life!!

Stamp Set:  Lacy & Lovely, Snow Swirled (inside)
Card Stock:  basic black, baja breeze, whisper white (inside), silver glimmer, snow festival dsp
Stamp Pads: black stazon, baja breeze (inside)
Other:  snow flurry die, snow burst ef (already retired), big shot, white organza ribbon, glue dot, dimensional.

I took this picture out of our dining room window a couple of days ago.  The center of our pool freezes last and that's the last place snow accumulates.  I thought it was funny that it looks like the Stampin' Up scallop oval frame die.

An Apple a Day ...

Usually, get well cards are flowery and cheerful (for a good reason), but when I saw Mary Fish's card, I linked the Get Well sentiment and apple on the card to the old expression, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away".  I'm not sure if that was her intention or not, but I went with it and have this card on the menu for the November and December card buffets.  Now, as I think about it, it kind of sounds like "if you ate an apple a day, you wouldn't be sick.".  Certainly NOT my intention.  Have you ever noticed that I tend to over think things?  Haha!

Snow Swirled Triple Layer Card

Happy December!

I think December 1 is a great day to share a beautiful snowy Christmas card.  Don't you?

This summer, we made this card at my buffets using the Triple Layer Technique and Creative Elements stamp set.  It was a big hit and I heard several comments like, "I love this.  I hope you do more like it."  So last month, I added this pretty card to the buffet.  It was very popular again.  I thought some stampers might be finished with Christmas cards and this card would be great for any occasion this winter, so I offered alternative sentiment stamps.  But I think most stuck with Christmas.

Thoughts and Prayers

This card combines an older stamp set Thoughts and Prayers with a brand new set Papillon Potpourri.  I like that the card is bold and clean but still tranquil.

This is an October/November card buffet card.  It has been very popular, as I expected.  My stamping friends tend to make a lot of the 'thinking of you' and 'sympathy' cards.  It's not because they surround themselves with sad situations, but because they themselves are so caring and they reach out to others in tough times.  Sometimes card buffets wear me out and can get frustrating, and then when I see/hear effects of the outreach, I come back around.

CASEd (and slightly tweaked) from this card.

Stamp Sets:  Thoughts and Prayers, Papillon Potpourri
Card Stock:  elegant eggplant, whisper white
Stamp Pad:  elegant eggplant
Other:  lacy brocade ef, big shot, dimensionals, basic pearls, elegant butterfly punch.

Joy to the World and a Santa's Hat Card

Christmas cards have been a big hit at my Card Buffets the past few months.  And with 12 cards to choose from, there's still plenty room for other occasion cards.

I try to mix up the style of cards so last month I added in a whimsical card.  I had seen this card and had some of the dsp leftover from 2 years ago.  So decided to give it a try.  I only had enough paper for 24 cards, but if needed, I had enough of another pattern from the same pack to make an additional 24. I didn't think pink would be too popular for Christmas cards so I thought I had enough for 2 months.  They were all made in one weekend!  Goes to show what I know.

Stamp Set:  Word Play
Card Stock:  pink pirouette, whisper white, real red, red glimmer, candy lane dsp
Stamp Pad:  black stazon
Other:  2-3/8" scallop circle punch, 1-3/4" circle punch, dimensionals, pink pirouette & real red markers.

I added this whimsical Santa hat card to replace the other one for its second/final month on the buffet.

Stamp Set:  More Merry Messages
Card Stock:  real red, whisper white
Stamp Pad:  real red
Other:  dimensionals, small oval punch (retired), itty bitty punch pack, word window, scallop oval and xl oval punches.

Moving Forward

This cheerful card was quite popular at my October card buffet.  It will wrap up at the November card buffet this coming weekend.

The words and bicycle image came as one stamp within the set Moving Forward.  For this card, I cut them apart so they could be used separately.  If I want to use them together again (like on this card), I can simply put them on the acrylic block together - kind of like putting a puzzle together.

CASEd from here.

Stamp Set:  Moving Forward
Card Stock:  whisper white, daffodil delight, basic gray, polka dot parade dsp
Stamp Pad:  basic gray
Other:  fancy fan ef, labels collection framelits, big shot, itty bitty punch pack, word window punch, basic pearls, dimensionals.
