Whatever Wednesday - Rudolph

This is such a cute and found card.  My granddaughter loves Rudoph and really "oohed" and "awwed" when she saw it.   This is the third one I've cased from Pink Buckaroo Designs using the same layout.

I made this birthday card in May 2010 and this Halloween card in October 2011.   I hadn't realized little stamps could be so fun.

Stamp Set:  Jolly Bingo Bits
Card Stock:  chocolate chip, early espresso, soft suede, crumb cake, very vanilla
Stamp Pad:  early espresso
Other:  1-1/4" squre punch, 1" circle punch, 7/8" circle punch (non SU), dimensionals, red gingham ribbon (retired), basic rhinestone, red Bic permanent marker to color Rudolph's rhinestone nose.

Ten Minute Tuesday - Winter Post

I was running behind in finishing our family Christmas cards when I ran across this card on Pinterest.  Quick, easy, very cute and I had all of the supplies to make 10.  Bingo!  The bow is so puffy that I did use two postage stamps, but totally worth it.  I even heat embossed the same snowflakes on crumb cake envelopes.

Sidenote:  If you are wondering why I was poking around Pinterest while I was behind in other things.  That is a good question to which I have no answer.  BUT - it did pay off!  :)

I found this card on Pinterest, but HERE is the original blog post where it was pinned from.

Stamp Sets:  Contempo Christmas, Winter Post
Card Stock:  crumb cake, riding hood red and whisper white on inside
Stamp Pads:  versamark, early espresso, riding hood red (inside)
Other:  white embossing powder, heat tool, riding hood red 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon (retired, but Cherry Cobbler would look great, too)

Baking Goodies

I hope that you had a joy-filled Christmas!!

I didn't do much baking this year, but I thought I would share pictures of what I did do.  The iced "M" sugar cookies were for Kyle's graduation last week.  The Snowman and Rudolf Cookies were for our family Christmas gathering (both found on Pinterest).

I'll be back soon with some cards to share.

Repeat The Sounding Joy

I'm back with another card using The Sounding Joy stamp set as well as Silver Glimmer Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  You can still place orders from this mini through January 4.

Speaking of the mini and it's approaching end date.  You know how most dies and punches are carried over and eventually make it to the next Idea Book and Catalog?  Well, the Stocking Builder Punch is not going to carry over.  So, January 4 will truly be the last chance to order it.  I've used it a few times and planned to much more.  Here are a few cards I've posted (plus think of Christmas scrapbook pages).

CASEd from here.

Stamp Set:  The Sounding Joy
Card Stock:  crumb cake, cherry cobbler, very vanilla, silver glimmer
Stamp Pads:  versamark, crumb cake
Other:  basic rhinestones, stampin sponge, cherry cobbler embossing powder, heat tool, tasteful trims die, petals-a-plenty EF, big shot, crumb cake 1/2" seam binding ribbon, glue dot.

Non Traditional Colors - Come to Bethlehem

Just in case you've been wondering where I have been, I thought I would share a few non-card pictures.

Kyle, our youngest of 3, graduated from Miami University on Friday.  You may remember that I showed our kids' triple graduation picture just 2-1/2 years ago - that included Kyle's high school graduation.   Yep - he graduated a year and a half early.  He has been offered an internship with The Heritage Foundation and will be moving back to Washington D.C. next month.

 My two handsome Miami Grads!
My parents also attended commencements (and the Open House on Saturday).  Mom wasn't feeling too well (one more chemo treatment to go), but she wouldn't let it stop her from being there.  ♥

Now, onto why you really stopped in.  ☺  I had seen this card on Stampin for Sanity and it really appealed to me.  I love this stamp set and wanted to use it again this year.  Renee used Bravo Burgundy craft ink for the embossing.  I don't have that color craft pad {gasp}.  Since the ribbon is Cherry Cobbler, I thought I could substitute VersaMark Ink and Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.  But it's just not the same.  {sigh}.  However, it is better than the photo - the card stock, embossing and ribbon actually do match.  But it still didn't make my "more more" stack.  What's funny, though, when my mom saw my stack of Christmas card samples, this was her favorite.  Goes to show that we all have different tastes.

Stamp Set:  Come to Bethlehem
Card Stock:  baja breeze, cherry cobbler, river rock
Stamp Pads:  versamark, cherry cobbler
Other:  square lattice embossing folder, big shot, cherry cobbler embossing powder, heat tool, rhinestone, cherry cobbler 1/2" quilted satin ribbon.

Ten Minute Tuesday - Quick Letters to Santa

Remember me saying that originally I wasn't too fond of the Letters to Santa Designer Paper in the catalog?  Well, here's the 3rd card I made with it and I have loved them all.  You just never can tell.

I very quickly whipped up nine of these cards.  I ddn't have 9 early espresso buttons, so I used some real red, baja breeze and blushing bride buttons leftover from last Christmas.

CASEd from here.
Stamp Set:  Christmas Greetings
Card Stock:  early espresso, whisper white, old olive, letters to santa dsp
Stamp Pad:  early espresso
Other:  neutrals buttons, whisper white baker's twine, glue dot.

Below are the other two cards I made using Letters to Santa designer paper.  You can click on the Perfect Punches and Bright Hopes labels on the right to see the original posts.

Mini Monday - Simple Stitched Stocking

I made 4 new Christmas cards on Saturday and none of them really got me too excited.  I will probably make more of a couple of them.  After all, it is December 12 and I still need about 80 more cards.  Yikes!

This is one that I won't be reproducing.  It's not bad.  But it just wasn't working for me; I kept getting the proportions wrong, things off-centered and crooked, etc.  I took it as a sign to move on.  I think it has potential ... for someone else.  ☺  Do you ever have this happen?

CASEd from this card on Splitcoast.

Stamp Sets:  Stitched Stockings (holiday mini), Four the Holidays
Card Stock:  old olive, whisper white, silver glimmer (holiday mini)
Stamp Pad:  cherry cobbler
Other:  tasteful trims die, stripes ef, big shot, dimensionals, glue dot, stocking builder punch, cherry cobbler 1/2" scalloped polka-dot ribbon, cherry cobbler baker's twine.

December Card Buffet Part 1

I held my monthly Card Buffet this past weekend.  I was so glad to see so many friends were able to sneak in a couple of hours of card making before they're full swing into their Christmas activities.  Here are 3 of the 6 cards that were introduced in November and rotated off of the menu in December.
Heavily inspired by this card on Artfelt Impressions blog.

Card Stock:  bashful blue, sahara sand, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  marina mist, whisper white craft
Other:  snowburst ef, big shot, bashful blue 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch, boho blossoms punch, pearl, dimensionals.

I CASEd this card from Jen Sannes on Splitcoast (stampejen0).  The color is off in the photo - it is actually peach parfait, not orange.  It's such a cute gender-neutral baby card to have on hand.

Stamp Sets:  Fox & Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Stamp Pads:  so saffron, early espresso
Other:  early espresso marker, 1-3/4" circle punch, 2-2/8" scallop circle punch, perfect polka-dots ef, big shot, peach parfait ribbon, itty bitty buttons pack, white baker's twine, glue dot, dimensionals.

Once again, CASEd from an Artfelt Impressions card.

Double the Merry!

You aren't going to believe this!  I am sharing TWO new Christmas cards today.  Both use items from the Holiday Mini Catalog (qualifying them for Mini Monday) and both were made in under 10 minutes (qualiftying them for Ten Minute Tuesday).  Since our Christmas cards are not finished, these cards are quick and pretty ... and time is flying, ... I will probably be making a few more of each.

CASEd from this card by Mary Fish.

Stamp Sets:  Tree Trimmings, Hand-Penned Holidays
Card Stock:  very vanilla
Stamp Pads:  always artichoke, cherry cobbler
Other:  dimensionals, always artichoke 1/2" seam binding ribbon.

CASEd from Jen Sannes card here.

Stamp Pad:  versamark

Thanksgiving Place Cards

I actually did make a new card between my Card Buffet Sessions Friday.  It would even qualify for "Mini Monday" since I used a stamp set out of the current Holiday Mini Catalog.  However, I have not gotten around to taking a picture of it.  Since it's been raining for 2 solid days, it probably wouldn't be a good picture anyway.  Maybe tomorrow.....

But here is something I haven't shared yet:  our Thanksgiving place cards.  Dinner was at our house this year.  We had to get a little creative with seating, so at the very last minute, I whipped up 17 of these.  I typed the names on the computer and ran card stock through my printer.

Card Stock:  early espresso, naturals ivory, Autumn Days dsp (retired)
Stamp Pad:  soft suede
Other:  very vanilla & early espresso 5/8" grosgrain ribbon (retired),  old olive 1/2" scalloped polka-dot ribbon, linen thread, hemp twine, earth elements buttons (retired), glue dots, xl oval punch, lots of tags sizzlet, big shot, stampin' sponge.
