Card Buffet

Hello!

I bet you thought I forgot about my blog.  Trust me - I didn't.  I have a little more going on at once than usual and haven't had a chance to do much stamping.  By the time I do in the evenings, I am too wiped out (which means sitting on the couch with the tv on and crocheting).

I actually did make 6 new cards this past weekend.  But since they are for the upcoming Card Buffet, I am not ready to share them on here yet.  Yesterday, I prepared 280 cards.  That's a lot especially considering almost every one has an embossed piece of card stock and up to 8 layers.  Perhaps I overdo it a tad.  :0)

While I was cutting yesterday, it occured to me that I hadn't shared cards from previous Buffets.  Here are four cards that were introduced in August and rotated off the menu in October (I had to skip September).  I had already posted two of the cards before I decided to put them on the menu.

Have a fabulous day.  If you're in Ohio, take your Vitamin D and please pray for sunshine.

Stamp Sets:  Artistic Etchings, You're a Gem.  Card Stock:  pretty in pink, pink pirouette, whisper white.  Stamp Pads:  pretty in pink, melon mambo.  Other:  finial press ef, big shot, pretty in pink 5/8" satin ribbon, basic rhinestones, two way glue pen, dazzling diamonds glitter, scallop edge punch, dimensionals.  CASEd from here.

Stamp Sets:  Nature Walk, Tiny Tags.  Card Stock:  crumb cake, soft suede, melon mambo, very vanilla, first edition dsp.  Stamp Pad:  soft suede.  Other:  vintage wallpaper ef, big shot, jewelry tag punch, hemp twine, very vanilla 1/2" seam binding ribbon, distressing tool, dimensionals.  CASEd from here.

Stamp Set:  Aviary.  Card Stock:  whisper white, pear pizzazz, basic black, 2010-2012 in-color designer stack.  Stamp Pads:  black stazon, pear pizzazz.  Other:  stamp-a-ma-jig, pear pizzaz ribbon, glue dot.  CASEd from here.

Stamp Sets:  Dot Dot Dot, Happy Greetings.  Card Stock:  baja breeze, early espresso, so saffron, whisper white, crumb cake, real red.  Stamp Pad:  early espresso.  Other:  owl builder punch, scallop border punch, wide oval punch, dimensionals, early espresso 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, glue dot.  CASEd from here.

Mini Monday - The Sounding Joy

Happy Monday!

I made a pretty long to-do list last night and got up this morning determined to get a lot done.  So far, so good - even though I am having computer issues.  Since I made several check marks on my list already, I treated myself to some stamping time.

This was my first time to use The Sounding Joy stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  "Let Earth Receive Her King" is heat embossed with the new Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.  Really pretty!  When I saw the original card that I CASEd, I wasn't too sure about using the Tulip Frame Embossing Folder - tulips on a Christmas card?  But the Sahara Sand layer is cut large enough to cover the tulips and just show the pretty scallop design.

I think I'm going to cut and stamp a few more of these before my Card Buffet this evening.

Stamp Sets:  The Sounding Joy, Seeing Stars (inside, retired)
Card Stock:  whisper white, sahara sand, cherry cobbler
Stamp Pads:  sahara sand, cherry cobbler, versamark
Other:  tulip frame ef, big shot, cherry cobbler embossing powder, heat tool, cherry cobbler 1/2" seam binding ribbon.

Mini Monday - Bright Hopes

I used my Bright Hopes Stamp Set for the first time today.  It's a set from the current Holiday Mini Catalog that is simple to use.  I would like to point out that this is the second card I made using the Letters to Santa designer paper (from the IB&C) and I like them both.  That's pretty good considering I originally didn't like that paper.  Show you what I know!  ☺

I'm going to see how many more real red buttons I have, and cut that many more cards to make.   Then I need to clean up for my fourth and final "All That Glitters" Christmas Card Workshop tonight.  Fun!

CASEd from Tara Baliboa here.  Her post is so funny about refraining from using bling on a Christmas tree.

Stamp Set:  Bright Hopes
Card Stock:  crumb cake, whisper white, old olive, early espresso (olive & espresso inside only), letters to santa dsp
Stamp Pads:  real red, early espresso
Other:  real red 1/8" taffeta ribbon, brights buttons, linen thread, glue dots, corner rounder punch.

Ten-Minute Tuesday Button Buddies

Cards are so fun with the Button Buddies stamp set.  The buttons add great texture and dimension.  There is such a wide range of stamps in the set, it makes it easy to use the variety packs of buttons.  This piggy card was certainly quick to make and hopefully will make the recipient smile.

CASEd from here.

Stamp Sets:  Button Buddies, Friendly Phrases
Card Stock:  crumb cake, chocolate chip, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  chocolate chip, real red
Other:  dotted scallop ribbon punch, nestabilities, big shot, brights buttons, whisper white baker's twine.
