Whatever Wednesday - Turtle & Company

This card caught my eye this morning and I wanted to make it this afternoon.  Then, while I was shopping today, I picked up a gift for my parents to give to my great niece for her birthday.  On my way home, it dawned on me that this would be a cute birthday card for a 4 year old.  And it even coordinates with wrapping paper that I already have.  Don't you love it when things coincidentally come together?  The recipient won't notice or care, but my mom and I do.

I used the new Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set - "Turtle & Company".  Each year, Stampin' Up! designs an exclusive stamp set to benefit RMHC.  With the purchase of this stamp set, SU! will donate $3.00 to RMHC.  Cute stamp set and a great cause!

Stamp Pad:  versamark
Other:  1-3/8" circle punch, white embossing powder, heat gun, pool party ruffled ribbon, bitty buttons, white bakers twine, glue dot, dimensionals.

Mini Monday - Happy Greetings

Hello.  Wow - what beautiful weather we're having!  I'm loving it!!

I didn't time it, but today's card might also qualify as a Ten-Minute Tuesday (except today is Monday).  It was pretty quick to make.

The flower and leaves are from the Fabulous Floret stamp set. It is in the Summer Mini Catalog, but also made it into the new big catalog.  The greeting is from Happy Greetings which is the summer mini but not in the big catalog.  I make so many cards, that I tend to get bored with the same old greetings, so I often hold onto them after they retire, building my options.  This one is staying in my inventory for awhile.

Did you notice how pretty and shiny the flowers are?  I used the new Melon Mambo embossing powder (another summer mini carry-over).  To make the black border, I simply cut a rectangle out of cardboard and traced around it with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.

Seasonal Saturday - Fabulous Florets

I am trying to hold on to summer as long as possible.  Before I know it, I will be making lots of fall cards, but for now, I am still enjoying flowers and pretty summer color combinations.  I just love the colors in this card.

Enjoy your weekend!

Whatever Wednesday - Delicate Doilies

This Delicate Doilies card caught my eye the other day.  It uses all of the 2011-2013 In-Colors, the fun triple layer punch and, of course, rhinestones.  My mom has been sending a lot of thank you notes lately and I thought this might be a pretty card to add to her stash.

Ten Minute Tuesday - Button Buddies

I saw this card on splitcoast yesterday and LOVE it!  So much so that I already cased it today.  It's so fresh and clean.  This Button Buddies stamp set really is turning out to be a lot of fun, too.  I also used Friendly Phrases which is a new "word" set that has cute phrases and fonts.

The center flower is stamped with Melon Mambo ink and punched out.  Melon Mambo is a "brights" color, but I like the way that this button looks with it and I found it in the "subtles" button container.  I know it looks kind of red in the photo, but it is dark pink (rose red).

If this is your first visit today, please scroll down.  I just posted yesterday's Monday Mini card this morning.

Stamp Sets:  Button Buddies, Friendly Phrases
Card Stock:  whisper white
Stamp Pads: pretty in pink, melon mambo, rich razzleberry
Other:  subtles buttons, white baker's twine, dimensionals, glue dot.

Mini Monday (a little late) - Love & Care

Better late than never?  I usually try to stamp in the morning or afternoon, but didn't get a chance yesterday until evening.  So my Mini Monday card was made on Monday, just not shared until Tuesday.

For this card, I used a hostess stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog called Love & Care.  Just 8 more days to order from the current mini.

I have today's card ready to share so stop back this afternoon for a really cute and quick card.

I CASEd this card from here.  I know that this person has CASEd from other people without giving proper credit, so I am not sure if she is the original creator.

Stamp Set:  Love & Care
Card Stock:  cherry cobbler, whisper white, old olive (inside), paisley petals dsp
Stamp Pads:  black stazon, cherry cobbler, old olive

Seasonal Saturday - Awash with Flowers

Here's a quick, bold, summer card for you.  I used one of my favorite two-step stamp sets - Awash with Flowers.  I'm usually an "everything has to fit neatly in its own box" kind of person, so it's a little surprising that I like this stamp set so much.  The solid images do not fit perfectly in the outline images, and I am actually okay with that.

This is my August Thank You Card for qualifying orders.

Have a great weekend!

As usual, the card inside and envelope are stamped to match.

Stamp Sets:  Awash with Flowers, Thank You Kindly
Card Stock:  real red, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  old olive, real red
Other:  real red 5/8" satin ribbon.

Flashback Friday - Plane and Simple

I prepared my September birthday cards this morning and was short on masculine cards so I made this one (and intend to make a few more).  The Plane and Simple stamp set was in the Occasions Mini Catalog this spring.  There aren't always a lot of masculine stamp sets that I like, so I decided to keep this one.  I'm glad I did!

This fun layout and color combination would work with many stamp sets.

CASEd from here.
Stamp Sets:  Plane and Simple
Card Stock:  riding hood red, baja breeze, pumpkin pie, very vanilla, love letters dsp
Stamp Pads:  night of navy, pumpkin pie, baja breeze
Other:  night of navy 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon, linen thread, square lattice ef, big shot, dimensionals.

Whatever Wednesday - Inspired by Nature

Inspired by Nature is one of my neglected stamp sets.   I have used the grass stamp several times, but not the daisy side.  This card caught my eye recently and inspired me to ink it up -- both sides.  (The set has two very large stamps that are double-mounted on one wood block).

Stamp Sets:  Inspired by Nature, Curly Cute
Card Stock:  pretty in pink, chocolate chip, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  lucky limeade, chocolate chip, black stazon
Other:  lucky limeade, chocolate chip & pretty in pink markers, sponge, pretty in pink 5/8" satin ribbon.

Ten Minute Tuesday - Birthday Banner

Mama Mo (one of my favorite blogs to visit) shared this card back in January.   She made it for a friend's 40th birthday (oh, to be that young).  I don't know of any milestone birthdays coming up, but it's a good card to keep in mind.  Isn't it cute?!  Just a hint of teasing.

I used leftover retired Love Letters designer paper with very vanilla and basic black card stock.  Love Letters can no longer be ordered, BUT Night and Day Specialty Paper (black and white) is on the clearance rack right now and would be a great substitute.  Click here to check it out.

Stamp Set:  Upsy Daisy
Card Stock:  basic black, very vanilla, love letters dsp
Stamp Pad:  black stazon
Other:  pennant builder punch, dimensionals, pearls, basic black 1/8" taffeta ribbon, glue dots.

Mini Monday - Bold Blossoms

This card looks totally different from the other cards I've made with the Bold Blossoms stamp set.  I like versatility!  This cute little stamp set is available in the Summer Mini Catalog through August 31.

I am so excited about a new tool I used on the card.  It's the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and it is way better than any other on the market!!! You are going to love it!  It premieres in our Holiday Mini Catalog beginning September 1.  I used it to make the grid on this card.  So easy.  For some reason, the vertical score lines didn't show up too well in the photo - but they are there.

CASEd from here.

Stamp Set:  Bold Blossoms
Card Stock:  whisper white, soft suede, baja breeze, crumb cake
Stamp Pads:  baja breeze, crumb cake, soft suede
Other:  Simply Scored, pearls, dimensionals. xl oval punch, lots of tags sizzlet, big shot.

Seasonal Saturday - Summer Strawberries

I just made this card a few minutes ago and took it outside for a photo shoot.  Now I find myself in the mood for a fruit salad by the pool.  Mmmmm....

I made the "strawberry" with the scallop hearts embosslit.  The leaves are a trimmed down five-petal flower punch and the white flower is the medium flower from the boho blossoms punch.  The chocolate chip scallop circle was cut from the new Perfect Pennants die.

I know strawberries are usually red, not coral, but I just couldn't resist using this adorable paper from the Berry Blossoms designer pack.  Remember, regular designer papers ($10.95) are buy 3, get 1 free through August 31.

CASEd from here.
Stamp Set:  Fabulous Phrases
Card Stock:  chocolate chip, lucky limeade, calypso coral, whisper white, berry blossoms dsp.
Stamp Pad:  chocolate chip
Punches:  5-star flower, boho blossoms, jewelry tag
Other:  scallop heart embosslit, perfect pennant die, big shot, yellow brad, white gel pen, chocolate chip 1/2" scallop dots ribbon.

Another cute strawberry card:
A very sweet friend sent me some gifts from the Stampin' Up! convention.  Thank you, Debbie!!  Along with the goodies, she sent this card from her Stamp-A-Stack.  Isn't it cute?!  She used a stamp from Delightful Decorations and the Ornament Punch to make the strawberries.  She used the 5-petal flower punch and folded over 2 petals to make the leaves.  She cut a sliver of card stock and curled it for the stem.  So clever!

Flashback Friday - Branch Out

This is a little later in the day than I normally post.  I am in between Card Buffets so I'm just glad I had the time (and energy) to do personal stamping.  Don't get me wrong - I love my card buffets - I just don't always get to stamp myself.

This is one of those stamp sets I was sad to see retire (in 2010).  A friend was looking for it; not being ready to part with my own, I looked it up on ebay and saw it selling for more than triple the original price.  I guess I'm not the only one that was sad to see it go.

CASEd from here.

Stamp Set:  Branch Out
Card Stock:  whisper white, baja breeze, certainly celery, subtles stack dsp
Stamp Pads:  chocolate chip, certainly celery, baja breeze

Whatever Wednesday - Build-a-Blossom

Many beautiful cards with the Build a Blossom Stamp Set and Punch have been catching my eye so I finally got mine out and gave them a try.  I loved this card that "justcrazy" posted on splitcoast the other day.  She is so talented and her projects are out of my league, but I still gave a CASE a try.

The shadow on the bottom right is me.  It's such a beautiful, sunny morning.  I love these days!

Card Stock:  crumb cake, basic black, daffodil delight, real red.pear pizzazz
Stamp Pads:  real red, old olive, black staz-on
Other:  houndstooth ef, big shot, black brads, mat pack & paper piercer (for brad placement), dimensionals, bright button, build a blossom punch, hemp twine.

Ten Minute Tuesday - Birthday Balloons

I've been taking my card photos outside the past few weeks and am so much happier with the way they turn out.  Today is breezy and my card is lighweight so I had to keep chasing it around the table and setting it back up.  Kind of funny.  I know I need to be figuring out a light box or some other solution for the upcoming winter days but I hadn't considered windy days.

I loved this card when I first saw it.  Mamamostamps makes beautiful Clean And Simple (CAS) cards that are not stark.  And since Tuesdays are for quick cards, they are likely to be CAS.

To make the black box, I cut a piece of black card stock 2.5"x3.75" to use as a template.  I laid it on my white piece (3"x4.25") and lightly traced in pencil just the section where I wanted to stamp the "happy birthday".  I stamped it, then used the template to trace with my basic black marker, avoiding the stamped sentiment.  I made a few extra cards and looked at my first for alignment and didn't use the pencil.  The balloons are hand cut and popped up on dimensionals.

Stamp Set:  Party this Way
Card Stock:  whisper white
Stamp Pads:  tempting turquoise, daffodil delight, old olive
Other:  rhinestones, basic black marker, dimensionals.

Mini Monday - The Open Sea Thanks

My hubby is in need of some Thank You cards so I whipped a few of these up yesterday afternoon.

I wasn't super crazy about this stamp set and designer paper when I first saw them in the Summer Mini,  but I have grown to really like them.  It's so easy to make masculine cards with this duo.  I was hoping to see them in the new Idea Book and Catalog, but no such luck.  Now my fingers are crossed for a carry over.  FYI, the designer paper is included in the buy 3, get 1 free promotion for August.
