Extreme Guitar

Today I needed a quick card for a 15 year old boy who happens to be a talented musician.  I finally inked up the Extreme Guitar stamp that I got free during Sale-a-Bration.  Too bad it's retiring in 2 days.

Big Shot Daisy

Just a quick and fun Thank You card.  Great for summer, isn't it?

I used the Daisy #2 Bigz Die for the daisy.  I cut two of the medium size and 2 of the small size and layered them to make the daisy look fuller.  The dsp paper is retired, but Old Olive from the brights stack would work.  The summer sun corduroy buttons are also retired, but are available on the clearance rack HERE.  Or a brights button would also work.

CASEd from here.

Stamp Set:  Full of Life
Card Stock:  whisper white, old olive, daffodil delight, sweet pea dsp
Stamp Pad:  black staz-on
Other:  daisy #2 die, big shot, summer sun corduroy brad, glue dots, dimensionals.

BIG Cupcake With a Cherry On Top

I received an update from Stampin' Up! announcing that a few things had been left off of the Last Chance Stamp List.  Simple Birthday Thanks was on the list.

The day after learning this stamp was retiring, I saw this card on the fabulous Inking Idaho blog. I paper pieced the cupcake. I've seen icing dry embossed before and think it looks so yummy. The cherry is cut separtely and I added crystal effects to make it shiny. This is a very elegant birthday card, don't you think?

Simple Birthday Thanks is one very large stamp (sized like the background stamps). Inside the cupcake bottom is a fill-in-the-blank child's thank you note. My childresn are all grown-up (plus I would not have let them send this kind of thank you note), but I did think the cupcake was really cute. So I bought it, and before I mounted the rubber, I cut out the note part.

Stamp Sets:  Simple Birthday Thanks (retiring 6/30/11), On Your Birthday
Card Stock:  very vanilla, basic black, cherry cobbler, early espresso, love letters dsp (retiring 6/30/11)
Stamp Pad:  black staz-on
Other:  cherry cobbler 1/2" seam binding ribbon (returning 7/1/11), pearls, elegant lines embossing folder, big shot, small oval punch (retired), dimensionals, cystal effects.

Scalloped Birthday

Isn't this so bright and fun?!  I loved the original when I saw it on Pink Buckaroo Designs!  The scallops were made with the Tasteful Trims Die.  It was in the holiday mini, then carried over and now is in the new catalog that starts July 1.

The stamp set is Party This Way and, yes, I did color that one stamp with 5 different markers, then hand-cut the image.

Colors:  Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry (remember ROYGBV?).  The dsp came from the Brights and Subtles Stacks.  The base is sahara sand and I tied it all up with 3/8" twill tape.

Anniversary Love Birds

I hope you had a good weekend!  It was kind of busy here.  Maybe 3 Card Buffets had something to do with that.  It was fun, though!

This card was one of the June only cards at the Buffet.  It uses the Love You Much stamp set that is retiring June 30.  I used Happy Anniversary from Teeny Tiny Wishes because I needed some anniversary cards, but it's also cute with the Friend to Friend stamp that comes in the Love You Much Set.

Card Stock:  crumb cake, daffodil delight, red glitter, whisper white.
Stamp Pad:  black staz-on

Here for you

I was happy to wake up to sunshine.  I am hoping to spend some relaxing time pool side with my hubby.  Then I must put the finishing touches on my June Card Buffet since the first session is tomorrow morning.

Here's a really clean and pretty card using the emboss-resist technique.  I stamped the tree with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Using two different sponges, I wiped Pear Pizzazz and Marina Mist ink over the tree.  The embossing resisted the ink.

CASEd from here.

This is a June/July Card Buffet card.

Stamp Sets:  Occasional Quotes, Thoughts & Prayers
Card Stock:  whisper white, marina mist
Stamp Pads:  versamark, marina mist, pear pizzazz, basic black
Other:  whisper white 5/8" satin ribbon, white embossing powder, heat tool, sponges, perfect polka-dot embossing folder, big shot.

Awash with Flowers

Now that summer is finally here, I am excited to use my flower stamp sets.  I never was too into them before, but I really like them now.  I guess I'm always a little behind the trends.  This set was available last spring as a sneak peek to the catalog.  I'm happy that it is also in the new 2011-2012 catalog that goes live July 1.

For the cone centers, I punched early espresso card stock with my small oval punch (that is retiring June 30) and used about 1/3 of it for each flower.

I CASEd this card from Faith on Stampin' Connection (a demo-only site).

Stamp Sets:  Awash with Flowers, Perfect Punches
Card Stock:  early espresso, pretty in pink, whisper white.
Stamp Pads:  early espresso, pretty in pink, certainly celery
Other:  perfect polka-dots embossing folder, big shot, scallop ribbon punch, wide oval punch, dimensionals.

Baja Breeze Fancy Flowers

I was feeling pretty under the weather Wednesday.  I felt much better yesterday, but thought that making a pretty card might speed up the recovery process.  I was right!  Here's my pretty card:

This card caught my eye here on Stampin' with Laurie's blog.  The blue probably had something to do with that.

I used the Flower Fancy stamp set which is a two-stamp set.  The outline and the filler stamp are separate stamps - making it easier to use two colors.  First I stamped the outline with early espresso ink.  Using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, I then stamped the inside stamp with baja breeze ink.  For the leaves, I only used Old Olive ink, but I "stamped off" the filler stamp so it wouldn't be as dark as the outline.

I used the same process to stamp just the center of the stamps on scrap cardstock.  Then I applied my two-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter, cut it out and popped it up on the flowers on the main panel.

I decorated the inside of the card with different stamps from the same set.

Stamp Set:  Flower Fancy, Tiny Tags
Card Stock:  baja breeze, early espresso, whisper white
Stamp Pads:  early espresso, baja breeze, old olive
Other:  early espresso 3/8" taffeta ribbon, jewelry tag punch, dimensionals, two-way glue pen, dazzling diamonds, baja breeze & old olive markers (for the inside stamp).

Anniversary Bikini

This past Thursday, June 2, was our wedding anniversary.  As you can tell from the photo, we've been married a long time.  And it just keeps getting better!

This is the front side of the anniversary card I made for my handsome groom.
 The back ...
 What it looks like opened.
I had seen lots of bikini cards on the internet and knew I wanted to make one.  I also hoped I could find a template instead of trying to figure it out on my own.  I found one.  Here's a link in case you want to make your own.

Jeff and I love tropical vacations, so this designer paper from last summer's mini was perfect.  I also used the retired Blush Blossom card stock.  To make the "lace", I cut 3/4" strips of the designer paper and used the Scallop Border Punch on the whole 12" side.  I cut slits in the straight edge about every 1/2" or less.  The slits allowed it to curve to the shape of the bikini pieces without puckering.  I ran my tape runner on the back edges of the bikini pieces and shaped the scalloped strip to it.

I'm back with another retiring stamp set; Pun Fun.  I like this cute, not too serious, get well card.  It's a bonus that it's gender neutral. It went together pretty quickly, too.

Stamp Pads:  black staz-on, going gray (retired)
Other:  basic black 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, blender pen, black brads, mat pack, paper piercer, dimensionals.

Got Birthday?

This is another card you will see at the June Card Buffet.  It's one of my favorites!  Unfortunately this ribbon is retiring June 30.  It's not retiring in all colors, but this is one.  The publication of the Last Chance Lists is causing me to rearrange the order of cards - it's all fun, though!

Can you see the little glittery punched heart?  The red glitter paper was carried over from the Occasions Mini Catalog AND it's going to be in the new catalog.  Yay!!

CASEd from here.
