Pear Pizzazz Bliss

Today's card features the Bliss Stamp Set.  If you don't own it yet, you have 10 more days to get it FREE.  The First Edition Designer Paper and Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding Ribbon are available from the Occasions Mini Catalog through April 30.

I used the Emboss Resist Technique on this card.  I stamped the large stamp on the designer paper with whisper white craft ink.  Then I heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then sponged over the embossed image with crumb cake ink.  The ink does not stick to the embossed image so the sponging actually highlights it.

CASEd from here.

Stamp Sets:  Bliss, Apple Blossom (sentiment)
Card Stock:  crumb cake, pear pizzazz, basic black, very vanilla, first edition dsp
Stamp Pads:  black staz-on, pear pizzazz, white craft, crumb cake

Punch Bunch Owl Returns

Last night we attended a concert by the Anderson University Chorale at our church.  They were awesome!  Very talented and very nice young people!  We volunteered to be a host family and brought 5 girls home with us.  We really had fun hanging out with them last night and this morning.  And in case you were wondering - an 80 gallon water heater is not nearly big enough for that many girls!  :o)

This was a busy week and I didn't get in much stamping time.  I ran out of projects to share on my blog.  So today's card serves two purposes:  it was quick and easy to make after I returned the girls to church this morning and it shows you another card for the Punch Bunch stamp set.  It's a FREE Sale-a-Bration set (ends March 31).  The Ice Cream Parlor designer paper I used is also FREE during Sale-a-Bration.

You know I love layering up my punched owls, but when time is short, this stamp is great.  Just stamp and punch once.  Not being able to leave well enough alone, I added googly eyes.

CASEd from here.

Stamp Sets:  Punch Bunch, Apple Blossom (greeting)
Card Stock:  crumb cake, whisper white, pumpkin pie (inside), old olive, so saffron, ice cream parlor dsp.
Stamp Pad:  early espresso
Other:  bird, owl, and 2-1/2" circle punches, linen thread, itty bitty button, dimensionals, sanding block.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Jeff is off work today.  It's 60 degrees and sunny.  How's that for great luck?!  I hope you're having a lucky day, too!

I thought I would share the one and only St. Patrick's Day card I made this year.  It took a long time to make but was well worth it.  I did use a few retired things, but they could be switched out for current goodies.

Stamp Sets:  Holiday Blitz (retired), Teeny Tiny Wishes, Sanded
Card Stock:  wild wasabi, really rust (ret), whisper white, basic black, blush blossom (ret), daffodil delight, night and day dsp (ret)

Springtime Vintage Quilt

This is another card from the last Stamp-A-Stack.  We used the Springtime Vintage designer paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  After choosing the sides and order to lay the dsp pieces, we mounted them on always artichoke card stock.  We then ran that panel through the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder.  That really changed the look a lot.  Some used the Happy Easter greeting.  Others used greetings from Sincere Salutations - they all fit in the same oval punch.  The card looks soft and soothing to me so I chose "Thinking of You" for mine.

Tweaked from this card.

Stamp Set:  Easter Blossoms (or Sincere Salutations)
Card Stock:  rose red, crumb cake, always artichoke, very vanilla, springtime vintage dsp
Stamp Pad:  always artichoke
Other:  mat pack, paper piercer, dimensionals, wide oval punch, sponge, always artichoke seam binding ribbon, chantilly lace crochet trim, square lattice embossing folder, big shot.

Elegant Lines Easter Card

This is the 2nd card from our March Stamp-A-Stack.  The elegant lines embossing folder is so pretty - when you use it, you don't need much else to make a beautiful card.

I tried this card out in several different colors and they all look pretty.  Here I'm showing Pink Pirouette and Marina Mist.

CASEd from here.

Stamp Set:  Easter Blossoms
Card Stock:  (just about anything), whisper white
Stamp Pad:  versa mark
Other:  white embossing powder, heat gun, elegant lines embossing folder, big shot, whisper white 3/8" taffeta ribbon, dimensionals.

Emma's Spring Card

My sweet little granddaughter spends every-other weekend with us.  This weekend, she had to wait through 3 of my Stamp-A-Stacks.  After church yesterday, we finally had time to do what she wanted to do.  And, of course, she wanted to make a craft.  Something for spring.  I suggested a sheep with cotton balls.  She ran with that!  Once she made it, she wanted to turn it into a card (where does she get that?).  Once that was finished, she wanted to make another.  While making the second, she requested that I put it on my blog.  How cute is this?!

The card is big; 8.5" x 5.5".  She did use a lot of Stampin' Up! products.  Do you recognize the clouds?  (frosting part of the Build a Cupcake punch)

Here's the first card we're making.  The teacup and "hello" are on the same single stamp; available free during Sale-a-Bration (just 19 more days).

Slightly tweaked version of this card.

CASEd from here.

Daffodil Friends Never Fade

I needed some Thank You and Thinking of You cards.  Since I am so anxious for spring, I thought the Friends Never Fade Stamp Set and Greenhouse Gala Designer Paper would be good to pull out.  I used markers on the stamp and stamped the same image on the envelope. I stamped a daffodil pineapple thing that looks like the dsp (from the same stamp set) on the inside of the card.

That same day, I made another card with the same pack of designer paper.  I just love it and think you will, too!  It uses small pieces of several different sheets of dsp, so it could be used for a Stamp-A-Stack card.  I think I'll save it for awhile.

Stamp Sets:  Friends Never Fade, Silhouette Sentiments
Card Stock:  daffodil delight, pumpkin pie, whisper white, greenhouse gala dsp
Markers:  pumpkin pie, daffodil delight, pear pizzazz
Other:  dimensionals, certainly celery 3/8" taffeta ribbon, celery button, embroidery floss (non SU), glue dot, small oval punch.

Have a great day!

Get Well Bird Punch

This is the other card we made at my workshop last week.  We sprayed the bird with vanilla smooch spray.  It added just enough "ooh" to the card.  For the inside, we stamped the get well sentiment from curvy verses.  We also added part of the flourish from Barogue Motifs in soft suede and the little flower in marina mist ink to the inside and to the envelope.

The two cards for this workshop had very little stamping, but they highlighted newer products (punches, embossing folders, big shot).

I tweaked this card a little bit.

Stamp Set:  Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock:  very vanilla, soft suede, marina mist
Stamp Pads:  soft suede, crumb cake
Other:  very vanilla 3/8" taffeta ribbon, finial press embossing folder, big shot, bird punch, large oval punch, scallop oval punch, sponge, dimensionals.

Ice Cream Parlor Birthday

I had a traditional workshop this past Sunday.  Some of the guests regularly attend my Stamp-A-Stacks and are very current on products, tools and techniques.  The other guests had a lot of experience but have been away from card making for quite awhile.  So I wanted to demonstrate cards that wouldn't bore those current and would not overwhelm the others.

This is one of the two cards that I demonstrated and everyone made.  It's easy and cute and also showcased a Sale-a-Bration item (Ice Cream Parlor DSP).  This is a perfect time to get back into stamping - free items!  Teeny Tiny Wishes is a great stamp set because it has sentiments for just about any occasion and holiday.  We used another versatile greeting set for the inside - Curvy Verses.  Although I used a lot of colors of card stock, they are all from the brights collection and can be purchased in one assortment pack.

CASEd from here.

Stamp Set:  Teeny Tiny Wishes.
Card Stock:  whisper white, pacific point, daffodil delight, pumpkin pie, melon mambo, old olive
Stamp Pad:  pacific point.
Other:  Ice Cream Parlor Designer Paper (free during Sale-a-Bration), daffodil delight 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, 1-1/4" circle punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, perfect polka-dots embossing folder, big shot, dimensionals, glue dots.

Punch Bunch Owl

This card uses my trusty ol' Owl Punch and the FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp set Punch Bunch.  I like the Owl Punch and all of its layers and dimensions so much that I didn't think I would use the owl stamp from this set.  But it does make a great background stamp!  Love this.

I CASEd the first card from here and really liked it.  It could be (and has been) used for a man card.  But I couldn't help but think, "What if I ...".  Next is my stepped-up version.  Sometimes more is better and sometimes it is not.  Which do you like better?

Stamp Sets:  Punch Bunch (free during SAB), Woodgrain Background
Card Stock:  crumb cake, cherry cobbler, very vanilla, jolly holiday dsp
Stamp Pads:  crumb cake, soft suede
Other:  owl punch, scallop border punch, dimensionals, 1-1/4" circle punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, clip, cherry cobbler 1/2" seam binding ribbon.

Mario Birthday

Happy Birthday, JT!  Today is a little friend's birthday who loves to play Mario Brothers on the Wii and his DS.  When his sisters painted t-sirts for a Justin Bieber concert, he painted Mario on his.  And for Halloween --- you guessed it, he wore a Mario costume.

I think he's going to like his card.

For those of you that don't know, this is Mario:
I wish I had looked this picture up before making the card.  I see now that he needs oval eyes and eyebrows.  Oh well - still cute and fairly close.

Stamp Set:  Family Phrases
Card Stock:  daffodil delight, pacific point, real red, chocolate chip, whisper white, bashful blue, basic black, blush blossom (retired).
Stamp Pad:  black staz-on
Punches:  scallop circle, 3 different ovals, 1/2" circle, 1/4" circle, owl (for eyes), word window
Other:  real red 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, real red marker, square lattice embossing folder, big shot.

Create a Cupcake Final 3

These are the last 3 projects from last weekend's Create-a-Cupcake Workshop.  I think everyone broke in their stamp sets and punches and are ready to go crazy for cupcakes!  (... oh wait ... that's a different stamp set ☺)

This card is fun because it shows the "frosting" part of the punch being used as scoops of ice cream.
CASEd from here.
Colors:  crumb cake, whisper white, wild wasabi, rose red, early espresso, so saffrom, tempting turquoise, red glimmer.
Another alternate use:  Popcorn.  Wouldn't this be a cute card to include a gift certifiate to a movie theater?
CASEd from here.
Colors:  real red, whisper white, daffodil delight.

These gift tags are fun to make.  Some one suggested that we make a bunch of them ahead of time so we will have them if we need them in a hurry.  Also buy plain wrapping paper so they will show up.
Inspired from here.
Colors:  whisper white, concord crush, peach parfait, pear pizzazz.
We also used the To & From Tag Stamp - it's available as a single stamp (FREE during Sale-a-bration).
