Cupcake Favors

This past weekend was my Create-a-Cupcake Workshop.  This is the party favor that I made for everyone attending.  I made it from a tutorial that I purchased from Becky Roberts.  I thought they were perfect for the workshop, plus they were quick and fun to make.

I wish I had taken a picture of all of them instead only my sample.  I filled everyone's with candy - but only had 2 pieces left for my sample.  You still get the idea, though.

Card Stock:  real red, celebrations designer paper.
Other:  perfect settings die, big shot, real red 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon, linen thread, needle, cupcake paper, button, certainly celery 1/8" taffeta ribbon, sticky strip, hot glue gun, 2-1/2" circle punch.

Go in the Direction ...

This is the card I included with a package to DC last week.  By the time this semester is over, I should have a better collection of man card samples!

The main image is from the Stamp Set "Word Play".  I stamped in on the whisper white panel with basic gray ink.  I then stamped the arrow portion of it on scrap card stock in more mustard and again in riding hood red.  I cut out the red and mustard arrows and popped them up on the main panel.  The mustard arrow covers the gray one and the red arrow is "added" to the original image.

Color Block Cupcake

This is the fourth and final card/project from the February Stamp-A-Stack.  I ran across this card on Splitcoaststampers last year while in Florida.  I got into my mom's stuff and figured out the dimensions, then left the sample for her.  Nearly a year later, I finally made another and decided it would be a good SAS card.  I'm glad I waited - due to retirements, I had to change a couple of colors and I like the new version better.

Cup-a-Soup Get Well

We also made this at the February Stamp-A-Stack.  I'm sure we all know someone right now that could use a little soup and get well wishes.

The pouch is made from a Crumb Cake Medium Envelope.  Cut 1-1/4" off one side - that strip becomes the lid.  When the pouch part is run through the crimper, it shrinks enough to fit inside the lid.  Pretty cute, isn't it?!  I also discovered that a Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate Packet will fit in the pouch - I can invision some cute winter time greetings....  Since Spring is coming (hopefully), how about flower seed packets?

Blushing Medallion Birthday

This is another card we made at the February Stamp-A-Stack this past weekend.  I think it was well liked.  It seems so striking, yet understated at the same time.  I love pink and brown together!

The photo is of my prototype.  The only thing I changed for the workshop was the Happy Birthday stamp.  The one shown is from Something to Celebrate (Occasions Mini hostess set).  At the workshop, we used one from Bring On the Cake.

Eggplant Bliss

This is the card I am making to include with qualifying orders in February.  I used the FREE Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set - Bliss.  The color is Eggplant Envy which is one I rarely use.  February is the perfect month for purple since the birthston is amethyst.

I have a Stamp-A-Stack starting up in about an hour, another one this evening and a third tomorrow morning.  I hope your weekend is as fun!

First Edition Owl

One of my very best girl friends had not been overwhelmed with the cuteness of the Owl Punch.  I know - hard to believe, isn't it?  When I showed the post-it note holders here, she finally broke down and had to order that "dumb punch".  I had to make and send her another Valentine just to show that he really is cute and not dumb.  :O)

Fox & Friends Baby Shower Note Cards

Kyle is going to spend this coming weekend visiting family in Maryland.  While he is there, the house will be full and there will be a baby shower for my cousin's daughter-in-law.   Although Kyle won't actually be participating in the shower, I still wanted to send a little something.  This weekend, I made this set of thank you notecards and mailed them to him to take.

I was glad to have an excuse to play with the Fox & Friends stamp set, and I think the gift pack turned out really cute.  There are 7 different animals in the stamp set and I made 2 of each note card.  I stamped the envelopes with the corresponding animal.

Stamp Sets:  Fox & Friends, Thank You Kindly
Colors:  chocolate chip, pumpkin pie, old olive, so saffron, bashful blue, cajun craze, taken with teal.
Other:  Sweet Pea dsp, three flower punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, 1-1/2" circle punch, scallop circle punch, bird punch, brads, dimensionals, so saffron & creamy caramel markers.

For the tag, I used the Tag Alongs stamp set and pumpkin pie ribbon.  I punched a 2-1/2" circle from dsp and mounted it on a circle of cardstock to make it more sturdy.

From My Valentine

I didn't think my wonderful husband could top last year's Valentine, but he may have just done that.  Oh - he is SO good!!  He melts my heart and makes me laugh every day.  ♥

*Tea-rific* Crumb Cake & Cherry Cobbler

The title sounds pretty yummy, doesn't it?!  Stampin' Up! color names can make me hungry.  Sorry to tease you.

I hope your weekend if off to a great start!  I have spent most of the day cleaning out the cabinets in my stampin' area.  I like to organize and I like things to be simplified, but it is so hard to decide what must go.  And, believe me, some things must go!  I know I will love the results once I finish.

Morning Cup is a stamp set I debated over for a long time.  I'm not a coffee drinker, but I have friends that are and the set has really cute tea images.  I am a tea drinker!  I finally got the set and this is my first card with it.  I love it!  There's a lot of paper piecing on the stack of cups - tiny cuting!

Build-a-Bear Get Well

A friend from church shared about her friend's little girl having serious surgery.  This little girl was more concerned about the other children in the hospital than  herself.  How sweet!  I made this card to send to her.  I hope she likes it.

I CASEd this card from here.  I changed the gift and balloon to the flower and left off the party hat.  I thought the card needed more color, so I paper pierced the bear's dress.  I stamped the bear on a scrap of designer paper (to match the paper already on the card), I then hand-cut the dress out and adhered it to the bear that I had stamped on the white top note.  I like it like this!

To color the bear, I used a trick I recently learned.  I scribbled a marker on a clear block and picked up the color with a blender pen.  It's practically the same as using the inside of a stamp pad lid, but a little quicker for such a small amount.

Stamp Sets:  Beary Best Friends, Beary Nice Wishes
Card Stock:  sahara sand, whisper pack, in-color patterns pack dsp
Stamp Pads:  black staz-on, blushing bride
Markers:  creamy caramel (retired), basic black, blushing bride, pear pizzazz
Other:  top note die, framed tulip embossing folder, big shot, sticky strip, blushing bride ribbon, dimensionals, blender pen, clear block, sponge.

Friends Never Fade Birthday

I made this card when I was designing cards for my upcoming February Stamp-A-Stack.  I made 6 different cards (needing 4).  I laid them all out and compared colors, styles, themes, ease, etc.  This one did not make the cut.  I do like it, though, and think it would make a great masculine card - the sentiment could easily be changed.

More Projects for my Grandbabies

Is it OK that I still call them grandbabies when they are 5 and almost 8?

Erica asked me to help make (design) thank you cards for Will's brithday.  Since he invited his whole preschool class to his party at Bounce U, they needed a lot (at least 24).  And since his party had been that day, we needed them fast.  She said he loved the bug Birthday card that we sent him.  So I whipped these 3 up in about 10 minutes, sent a picture to her phone and got a quick "perfect".  Within an hour, I had "kits" for her to assemble 9 more of each design.

The insides and envelopes are stamped with the same bug that's on the card.

Stamp Sets:  Bugs & Kisses, Family Phrases
Card Stock:  whisper white, old olive, marina mist, real red, early espresso.
Stamp Pads:  old olive, marina mist, real red, early espresso.
Other:  mat pack, paper piercer, 1-1/4" circle punch, 1-3/8" circle punch.

It felt so good to knock off those cards so quickly, that I decided to clear another project out of my stampin' area.  I had these jars and the candy just waiting to be transformed into teacher gifts.  Another very fast project!  I'm sure Emma's teachers love the candy.  We probably should have stuffed Will's teachers' jars with cash.

Stamp Set:  Love You Much
Card Stock:  real red, pretty in pink, whisper white
Stamp Pad:  real red
Other:  scallop circle punch, xl scallop circle punch, small heart punch, ribbon, jar, candy

Black and Vanilla Silhouette Sentiments

I think I like black and vanilla better than black and white.  I just love this card!  It's the first time I inked up the hostess set Silhouette Sentiments.  I also got to play more with my new Tulip Frame Embossing Folder.  I resisted that folder for awhile, but we have now bonded.  :o)

Because I Care Gift Set

Happy Monday, Everyone!

A friend of mine recently had surgery.  I thought she might need some thank you notes, so I put this little gift set together for her.

I used my hostess stamp set Because I Care to make 6 cards.  I put them in a little folder that I also made.

CASEd from here.

The folder was very quick and easy to make (as were the cards).
  • Start with 1 full sheet of 8.5" x 11" card stock.
  • Lay it landscape and score vertically at 5.5" (in center).
  • Rotate to portrait position and score vertically at 2" - this forms the pocket.
  • On the center score line, cut up to the 2" score line.  Cutting the "pocket" in half.
  • Fold the pockets up.
  • On each side of the center line, measure 1" over on the pocket.  Draw a diagonal line from the 1" mark down to the fold.  This forms a little triange on each side.
  • Cut on the line you just drew; removing the little triangles.
  • Ta-da!  That's it.  Now decorate.
Stamp Set:  Because I Care
Card Stock:  marina mist, very vanilla
Stamp Pad:  Marina Mist
Other:  marina mist 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, scallop edge punch.
