Tiny Pearls for Flower Accents - Sympathy

I had seen this beautiful card on Splitcoast and through google reader.  Unfortunately, I was completely out of sympathy cards.  I made a few and hope I keep them a long time.

I have to admit, though, the card was fun to make.  I added the smallest pearls to each flower center.  The card was really pretty without them, but they softened it and added a touch of elegance.  MUCH prettier in real life!  The green is way off in the first photo.

Have a great weekend!

Razzleberry Lemonade Quilt Card

Here's another card for the feminine birthday card requests I've been working on.

The designer paper I used (Razzleberry Lemonade) is retired, but it's on the clearance rack for only $3.49.  It coordinates with Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry which are still available.

Easter Workshop - in January

I had a wonderful workshop last night!  It's a quarterly hostess club with a bunch of fun ladies.  My long-time friend/hostess requested Easter projects.  These are what I came up with:

I found the card here.
Stamp Set:  Easter Blossoms (Occasions Mini Catalog)
Card Stock:  early espresso, blushing bride, crumb cake.
Stamp Pads:  crumb cake, whisper white craft
Other:  blush blossom marker, large oval punch, scallop oval punch, antique brad, dimensionals, blushing bride ribbon, sticky strip

I had my Gingerbread Candy Holder in mind, when I designed this Easter Basket.  I had seen many punch art bunnies over the years.  I started with the new 2-3/8" scallop circle punch.  If you look close enough, you can see a little tag hanging from the bow.
Stamp Set:  Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock:  12x12 crumb cake, whisper white, blushing bride, basic black.
Stamp Pads:  basic black, blushing bride, chocolate chip
Punches:  2-3/8" scallop circle, small oval, large oval, 1/2" circle, 3/4" circle, small heart
Other:  sponges, dimensionals, hemp twine, linen thread, blushing bride ribbon, white gel pen, fancy favor die, big shot, sticky strip.

The next two pictures are a hostess gift I made.  I got the idea from the demonstrator website; it had three boxes inside but I cut it down to two.  The little boxes were made from the Matchbox die - I just didn't cut the sleeve to slide them into.  My friend loves dark chocolate, so I wrapped dark chocolate almond nuggets in blushing bride designer paper.  I had to keep my color theme going.  ☺
Additional supplies:  matchbox die, early espresson 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.

Wonderful Son

I sent a care package to Kyle last week and made this card to include with his goodies.  I was in such a hurry to get the box on the porch before the mail carrier came for it, that I didn't take time to get a photograph.  Since my toys were still out, I made another.  I think/hope I stamped "son" straight on the original.  :o)

Acetate Filled with Love Card

I really love cards made with the Window Sheets, but for some reason, I don't make them very often.  This card inspired me to dig into my acetate stash.  I did a quick "gather on sticky strip gather" job with my ribbon.  The original had been gathered by pulling a thread and making "real" gathers.  It's more frilly - I do like it so I will probably be giving it a try soon.

The base of this card is 5.25" square which means using a square envelope.  That's ok - I have a sheet and a half of $.64 stamps just waiting for such a fun square card!

Stamp Set:  Filled with Love
Card Stock:  window sheets, whisper white, pretty in pink, real red, love patterns dsp
Stamp Pads:  pretty in pink, real red
Other:  bitty buttons, linen thread, sticky strip, dimensionals, pretty in pink 5/8" satin ribbon, modern label punch, small heart punch.

Joy Filled with Love

This is my first attempt at a "joy fold" card.  They are really quite simple and a nice change from the traditional style.  They are sill A2 size so they fit in the medium envelopes.

The base card stock is 4.25" x 8.5"; score at 5.5".  The other piece that also folds is 3" x 8"; score at 4".  The large heart on the front is adhered with dimensionals; allowing the smaller flap to tuck under it, keeping the card closed.  If I were to make another joy fold card, I would add something smaller than the large heart  - the flap tucks in a little too far.

Stamp Pads:  real red, pretty in pink

Another "Filled with Love" Double

Are you counting?  Two cards in one post two days in a row!  Wow.  It sure would be fun to keep this up.  Cooking, cleaning and ironing are over-rated anyway.  ☺

And on another side note - I got some pretty good card photos today.  I think it helped that it is sunny today and the sun is reflecting off all of the new snow.  My camera flash didn't go off and I was able to lighten the pictures with my software.  The dimensions show more this way.  Since we don't always have bright sunshine and snow, maybe I should get a light and box...

On with today's cards.  Here are two more reasons to order the Filled with Love Bundle.

CASEd from here.

Filled with Love - Double Dose

I didn't get a card posted yesterday, but I have two for you today.

January 24th is the last chance to order the Filled with Love Bundle.  That will still give you time to receive your order, make your cards and give/mail them out.  The bundle includes the Stamp Set, Love Patterns designer paper (12 sheets; 6 pink and 6 red) and free bitty buttons.  Additional packs of Love Patterns paper can also be ordered.

Check back daily to see more cards made with the stamp set.

I found this card on Splitcoast.  I wish you could see it IRL - so cute.  The little circle is popped up and there's a rhinestone in the center.  I know you can see something there, but the sparkle and dimension don't show.  Trust me - it's cute and festive.  I also stamped the top right portion of the large heart on scrap card stock and cut out the tiny heart to pop up over that spot on the large one.  I use my perfect polka-dot embossing folder a lot and I thought about using a different one for this card.  But the polka-dots match the ribbon...  Speaking of the ribbon - it's a retired favorite of mine.  I'm so glad I was able to pick up more on the clearance rack.

The original of this card was made my Cheryl-Ann Duin, but apparently she doesn't have a blog.  See the bitty button in the center of my bow?  Get yours free.

Other:  real red 3/4" polka-dot ribbon (retired), full heart punch, 3/4" circle punch, scallop border punch, perfect polka-dot embossing folder, big shot, rhinestone, real red 3/8" taffeta ribbon, small heart punch, bitty button, linen thread, dimensionals.

Filled with Love Valentine

This is a traditional Valentine from the last Stamp-A-Stack.  I was glad to be able to order the Love Patterns Designer Paper - with only 2 colors in the pack, it enabled me to make these cards in mass quantity (stamp-a-stack).

Two little touches that added a lot are layering the red scalloped heart behind the large pink heart and coloring the tiny heart red within the big heart.  I'm also pleased with how well the front layout worked on the inside of the card.

Don't forget:  the last day to order the Filled with Love Bundle and receive free Bitty Buttons is January 24, 2011.

I {Heart} Friend Card

This is another card we made at this past weekend's Stamp-A-Stack.  I think it could be used as a Valentine, but doesn't have to be.  I really like the addition of the Marina Mist.  Some people didn't want their heart to say "friend"; the I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set has a lot of heart images so it was easy to make a substitution.  I also pulled out the "Happy Valentine's Day" stamp from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set to be added to the white panel on the front.

Suede & Pink Serene Snowflakes

Since January is usually our snowiest month, I like to use note cards with snowflakes/winter themes.  This is one that we made at my January Stamp-A-Stacks.  I offered a variety of sentiment stamps.

Birds in a Row

Aviary is one of my favorite "cute" stamp sets.  I just posted a birthday card the other day with an owl in a bird cage.  I think this is the first time I used it with just the birds; no cages.

This is a cute and simple 3"x 6" card that fits in the small open-end envelope.  It's the first card from this weekend's stamp-a-stack.

CASEd from here on the Chicn Scratch blog.

Stamp Sets:  Aviary, Fabulous Phrases
Card Stock:  whisper white, not quite navy
Stamp Pads:  cherry cobbler, peach parfait, not quite navy, pear pizzazz

Fifth Avenue Birthday

I got a dozen of these made the other night.  And - yes - I still need more feminine birthday cards!  That's ok - they're usually easier to come up with than masculine cards.

Stamp Sets:  Fifth Avenue Floral, On Your Birthday, Well Scripted (retired)
Card Stock:  crumb cake, basic black, whisper white, urban oasis dsp (retired)
Stamp Pads:  black staz-on, crumb cake, baja breeze
Accessories:  basic black 5/8" satin ribbon, gold studs (non SU), dimensionals
Tools:  nestibilities, big shot

I found this card on the SU! demonstrator website (sorry, I can't link you to it).  I used a current stamp set called Fifth Avenue Floral and a retired set from last spring called Well-Scripted.  The designer paper is Urban Oasis and it is retired.

I know a lot of demonstrators would not share retired products on their blogs and I agree with most of their reasoning.  I really love these products and want to still use them for my personal use (not workshops/classes).  Plus since I send so many cards personally and donate a lot, I can't justify selling off retired items at really low prices.

So, if I still want to use these products for myself, why share them on my blog?  After all, I am hoping to generate business and you can't order these supplies.  There are a few reasons:  1. Some of you do own these products, and I still want to service your past purchases.  2. I don't want you to think you have to get rid of something just because it retired.  3.  If you don't own these products and like this card, you can substitute items.  This paper could easily be duplicated with card stock and stamps.
