Father's Day Shirt & Tie

This is the Father's Day I made for my wonderful husband.  He wears a suit and tie to work every day.  He always wears bright ties and a white shirt.  People love his ties and the way they add cheer to a somber occasion.  They've kind of become a trademark.

I've seen similar cards all over the web.  Of course I had to make his "tie" with the new Island Oasis Designer Paper.  If I had a little polo horse stamp to use on the stamp, the card would've been even better.

Recipe:  Stamp Sets:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Holiday Blitz.  Card Stock:  tempting turquoise, whisper white, pumpkin pie, island oasis dp.  Ink:  old olive, tempting turquoise.  Accessories:  white brads.  Tools:  word window punch, modern label punch, bone folder.

This is the fourth and final card we made at last week's Stamp-A-Stack.  We used the retiring stamp set "Enjoy Every Moment".  It's a fun set and I was a little sad to see it on the retirement list, but there are so many new sets I want to play with that I got over it quickly.

June 2010 Stamp-A-Stack #2 Close As a Memory

We used another retiring stamp set for this card at my Stamp-A-Stack last weekend.  Everyone agreed that while we don't like to need to send Sympathy cards, it's nice to have them on hand.   We usually need them in a hurry.  This one is very pretty and peaceful looking: it's much lighter than it appears in the picture.

CASEd from here.

Recipe:  Stamp Set:  Close As a MemoryCard Stock:  old olive (I know, it looks black in the picture), whisper white.  Ink:  basic gray.  Accessories:  white organza ribbon, old olive, pretty in pink & barely banana markers.

Cupcake Pocket Card

I love making birthday cards.  That's a good thing because I send a LOT of them.  A few months ago, I discovered the fun of "pocket" cards.  For today's card, I combined both; birthday card and pocket card.  Enjoy!

Lovely As a Tree Bonus

Three of the four cards at my May Stamp-A-Stack were "manly" cards.  I offered a bonus card sample to anyone that ordered "Lovely As a Tree" and/or "Totally Tool" stamp set.  This is the card that I gave with the Lovely As a Tree Stamp Set.

To see the card we made with this stamp set at the SAS, click here.

I was inspired by this set of cards.  Although, it wouldn't be difficult to add color to this card, I really like the cripsness of the black and white.  The brads and piercing in the upper left corner add just enough interest.

Recipe:  Stamp Set:  Lovely As a Tree.  Card Stock:  basic black, whisper white.  Ink:  basic black.  Accessories:  black brads.  Tools:  mat pack and paper piercer.

Sweet Scoop of Chocolate

I finally used the new Sweet Scoops stamp set from the summer mini catalog.  I wasn't too crazy about it at first.  Like my friend, Jo, I thought it was too reminiscent of our early stamping days.  However, our styles and embellishments have evolved so much over the years that the stamp set does look up-to-date.

It's a great stamp set for bright, fun, summery colors.  However, the chocolate approach really appeals to me.  ☺

CASEd from here.

Recipe:  Stamp Set:  Sweet Scoops.  Card Stock:  chocolate chip, creamy caramel, so saffron, so saffron dp, whisper white.  Ink:  so saffron, close to cocoa, chocolate chip.  Accessories:  1" stitched chocolate chip ribbon, dimensionals, lattice weave embossing folder, crystal effects.  Tool:  big shot.

New Items on Clearance

I don't want my lack of new cards on my blog to make you think I haven't been stamping.  I've actually made several new cards this past week.  I don't want to post them until I decide which ones to make at my Stamp-A-Stack - some people like surprises. Please stay tuned ...

Stampin' Up! just added new items to the Clearance Rack.  Some great deals!  I noticed that several items are in the colors of some returning in-colors (baja breeze, tangerine tango, riding hood red, pacific point).
