January Thank You Note Card

My friend was blog surfing and found this {card} on Becky Roberts blog (a fabulous stamper) and sent me the link. This is a blog I also visit, but I hadn't seen this yet. I loved it and made a bunch the very next day. I'm using them as "thank yous" for January orders.
This is a note card (like stationary) and only a front with plenty of writing space. I love using the FREE Scallop Trim Border Punch. This was my first time to use the new XL Bird Punch for the Occasions Mini Catalog. I lightly sponged the edges of the bird and wing with a slightly darker ink to show definition. So cute! And quick.
Recipe: Stamp Sets: Thank You Kindly, Vintage Vogue. Card Stock: chocolate chip, very vanilla, pretty in pink, old olive, sending love specialty. Ink: chocolate chip, pretty in pink, rose romance. Accessories: dimensionals. Tools: perfect polka-dot impressions folder, big shot, xl bird punch, scallop trim border punch.

Birthday Gift Card Holder

I needed to make a card to hold a gift card for a sweet young girl's birthday. This is what I came up with. It's the same style we made at Christmas time, just different decorating. It fits in the open end envelope. I had to cover part of the envelope with the card because I had already addressed it when I remembered to take a picture. Aren't the "celebrate" postage stamps fun? I keep a sheet just for birthday and congratulations cards.
Recipe: Stamp Set: Bitty Birthday. Card Stock: rose red, bashful blue, whisper white, so saffron dsp. Ink: black staz-on. Markers: rose red, so saffron, bashful blue. Accessories: 1/4" white grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, white gel pen. Punches: scallop circle, 1-3/8" circle.

Quick Rolled Valentine

I used lots of fun new products from the Spring Occasions Mini Catalog to make this really quick Valentine Card. One of which was the I {Love} Love jumbo wheel - I don't use wheels too often, but this one is fun. It's actually the only "stamp" I used on this card. I CASEd this {card}.
Recipe: Stamp Set: I {Love} Love jumbo wheel. Card Stock: real red, pretty in pink, whisper white. Ink: real red. Accessories: 5/8" pretty in pink satin ribbon, dimensionals. Tools: jumbo wheel handle, small heart punch, pinking hearts border punch.

Stamp Club Day - Pink & Chocolate Medallion

This morning was my monthly Stamp Club day with my stamping buddies and wonderful friends. This card is the project I took to share. I saw it {here} on SCS and CASEd it the very next day. I love it - great color combination. The background stamp is called "Medallion" and I think it's the only background stamp I've used that can be the focal point instead of just a background.
Yes - I did notice that my faux stitches are crooked. I made more today and they are straight. Probably more straight than if I actually had sewn for real.
Recipe: Stamp Sets: Medallion, Trendy Trees (sentiment). Card Stock: chocolate chip, whisper white, pretty in pink, kraft. Ink: pretty in pink, chocolate chip. Accessories: chocolate chip satin ribbon, white gel pen, brown brad (not SU). Tools: scallop edge punch, mat pack, paper piercer.

One Layer Branch Out Card

I like to use "wintry" cards for my Christmas thank you notes and regular note cards in January. I had some made up, but most of my stamping buddies had already seen and/or made them at workshops. So for them, I had to make another one. (See how easy it is for me to justify stamping time?). {This} is the card I chose to make and send to them.
Did you notice that it's just one layer? Unusual for me. But I did add big ribbon and sparkle...
Recipe: Stamp Sets: Branch Out, Teeny Tiny Wishes. Card Stock: kraft. Ink: chocolate chip, whisper white craft, real red. Accessories: 1-1/4" chocolate chip striped grosgrain ribbon, heat & stick powder, dazzling diamonds glitter. Tools: heat gun, paper piercer and mat pack.

January 2010 Stamp-A-Stack #4 - Kraft for Valentine

This is the last card from the January Stamp-A-Stack - found {here}. It was another easy one (that's 3 out of 4). The squares are cut from the Sending Love Specialty Paper in the new Occassions Mini Catalog. Some of it is shiny and/or glittered - so fun! The paper includes 6 different designs and each is 2-sided - that gives 12 options. The most difficult part of this card was deciding which sides of the squares to allow to show. The sentiment is from the new With All My Love stamp set (mini catalog) and the "stitching" is drawn free hand with a white gel pen.
I think it would serve as a Valentine's Day card but not restricted to that.
Recipe: Stamp Set: With All My Heart. Card Stock: kraft, sending love specilaty, very vanilla (inside). Ink: real red. Accessories: white gel pen, dimensionals.

January 2010 Stamp-A-Stack #3 - Friend 3 x 6 Card

Just a cute little "friend" notecard. It measures 3x6. This size card is quick to make and fun to send (and receive). They fit in the open-end envelopes. For less scraps, I recommend using 12x12 card stock for the card base.
Recipe: Stamp Set: I {Heart} Hearts. Card Stock: bashful blue (12x12), crushed curry, soft suede, whisper white. Ink: real red, old olive. Accessories: dimensionals, 1/2" soft suede polka-dot ribbon. Punches: scallop edge, full heart, small heart.

January 2010 Stamp-A-Stack #2 - I {Heart} Hearts

The first Stamp-A-Stack card was easy (see yesterday's post). This is the second card. It's not hard, but there are a lot more steps to it. Good thing I started the groups with a "warm up" card. :0)
This card used a new stamp set called I {Heart} Hearts from the Spring Occasions Mini Catalog. It has lots of fun heart images and has many more uses than just Valentine's Day. The sentiment is from Whimsical Words - a FREE set from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.
Recipe: Stamp Sets: I {Heart} Hearts, Whimsical Words. Card Stock: old olive, crushed curry, chocolate chip, real, red, whisper white. Ink: chocolate chip, bermuda bay, old olive, real red. Accessories: spiral clip (non SU), 3/4" real red grosgrain polka-dot ribbon, dimensionals. Tools: scallop edge punch, heart to heart punch, small heart punch.

January 2010 Stamp-A-Stack #1

This past Friday and Saturday were Stamp-A-Stack workshops. Everyone makes 2 each of 4 different cards. I had a nice turn out and I think everyone was pleased with their creations. It was a great opportunity for me to introduce some products from our new Occasions Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure.
This is the first card we made. I usually like the first card to be fairly simple and call it our "warm up" card. As you know, I like elaborate cards with lots of layers and embellishments as well as clean and simple cards. This definitely falls into the CAS category. I always find great CAS cards on the Artfeltimpressions blog. This card was {here}.
Recipe: Stamp Set: With All My Heart. Card Stock: real red, pretty in pink, very vanilla. Ink: real red, pretty in pink: Accessories: vanilla satin ribbon, silver brad, dimensionals. Tools: trio flower punch.

On a Pedestal Final Card

This is it. The End. There is no more. The last sample I made with the borrowed "On a Pedestal" stamp set. I think I saved the best for last. I borrowed it {here}. The top layer of the cake (icing) is stamped again, glittered, cut out and popped up. To add more texture, circles of celery cardstock are cut out and adhered to the celery panel.
Recipe: Stamp Set: On a Pedestal. Card Stock: soft suede, so saffron, whisper white, certainly celery. Markers: soft suede, certainly celery, so saffron, ruby red, chocolate chip. Accessories: dazzling diamonds, dimensionals, 1/2" polka-dot grosgrain ribbon. Tools: 1" circle punch, glue pen.

Silvery Pedestal & Candles

This card is sooo different than the others made with this set. The original creator used more ribbon to looks like streamers, which I left off. It's one of those cards that I like one time, then not so much the next time I look at it. If I do make more, I will definitely straighten up those candles. :0)
Recipe: Stamp Sets: On a Pedestal, Bitty Birthday. Card Stock: whisper white, brushed silver, rose red, pretty in pink. Ink: rose red, versa mark. Accessories: pretty in pink taffeta ribbon, silver embossing powder, clear embossing powder. Tool: heat gun.

Cake On a Pedestal

For information about my January Stamp-A-Stack, click {here}.

One more "On a Pedestal" card. It's the last one with this color combination that I found here.
I'm heading out for the grocery store because that's what I do on Monday mornings and we need things. They are calling for more snow this afternoon, so I hope 1/2 of Middletown is not also on their way to Kroger to stock up because they think they won't get back out until spring.
Recipe: Stamp Sets: On a Pedestal, Hugs & Wishes. Card Stock: chocolate chip, regal rose, so saffron, whisper white. Stamp Pad: chocolate chip, regal rose. Markers: crushed curry, regal rose. Accessories: dimensionals, 5/8" chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon. Tools: swiss dot embossing folder, big shot, photo corners punch.

Quilted Valentine's Card

Here's the Valentine's Card we made at my mom's workshop. I like this a lot better than the pastel quilt cards I made several months ago! I simply cut (12) 1-1/4" squares and placed them on a 5"x3.75" piece of cheap card stock. I ran that through the Big Shot twice - once to cut the top note shape and again for texture to give it the stitched look. The patterned papers add a lot - much better than all solids; they're more versatile too because they are two-sided.
Have a great weekend and stay warm!!
Recipe: Stamp Set: Love You Much. Card Stock: melon mambo, real red, pretty in pink, positively pink, whisper white, melon dsp. Ink: melon mambo. Accessories: melon mambo 1/2" grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, white gel pen. Tools: big shot, top note die, cuttlebug harlequin embossing folder, 1-1/4 circle punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, scallop circle punch.

Movers & Shapers Valentine

Although, I still have a few more "On a Pedestal" cards to share with, I thought I would give you a break and show a Valentine's card.
I actually made this card in October. Crazy, huh!? And, yes, it is an original. My mom was hosting a workshop in October; her Christmas cards were finished, so she asked me to feature Valentine's ideas. I made some samples to show her. She chose one for her workshop and then a different one to make and send to her friends and family. Smart lady.
Since Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas hadn't even happened yet, my mind couldn't focus on Valentines too well. So they ideas were pretty simple. Like this one. I had been wanting to use my Movers & Shapers dies and windows, so this is what I came up with - very easy!
Recipe: Stamp Set: Grateful Greetings. Card Stock: kraft, whisper white, rose red. Ink: rose red. Accessories: dimensionals, rose red 1" stitched grosgrain ribbon. Tools: big shot, movers & shapers die, heart window die, full heart punch.

Razzleberry On a Cupcake

Click {here} for information on my January Stamp-A-Stack.

I found this card idea {here}. I think this is now the 8th birthday card sample I made using my mom's On a Pedestal stamp set. I really like this one! I say that a lot, don't I? I know it looks flat, but the scallop circle panel is raised up on dimensionals.

We're expecting 3-5 inches of snow. It's 8:30 and just starting with fine, blowing flurries. School was already cancelled; surprising how much trust they put in the forecast. Jeff should be off work at noon. May be a good day for movies, hot chocolate and a Snuggi.

Recipe: Stamp Sets: On a Pedestal, On Your Birthday. Card Stock: rich razzleberry, crushed curry, whisper white, razzleberry lemonade dsp. Stamp Pads: rich razzleberry, melon mambo. Markers: melon mambo, crushed curry. Accessories: rich razzleberry 1/2" polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals. Tools: nestabilities, big shot, paper piercer.

Pumpkin & Curry Cake On a Pedestal

Click {here} to learn about my January Stamp-A-Stack.

This layout and color combination is very different from the other cards I've been sharing with this stamp set. I like this card (found here), but what I also really like is being able to use the same stamp set for a variety of cards still for the same occasion. I already send a lot of birthday cards, but since I joined facebook last month, I am finding a lot more birth dates - it will be good to have a larger stash of cards on hand.
Recipe: Stamp Set: On a Pedestal. Card Stock: pumpkin pie, crushed curry, whisper white. Ink: pumpkin pie, crushed curry, ruby red. Accessories: orange brads (non SU), 1/4 pumpkin pie grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals. Tools: scallop edge punch, 3 flower punch, paper piercer.

Chocolate & Cherry On a Pedestal

Click {here} for more information about my next Stamp-A-Stack workshop.

I told you I made a lot of cards while I had this stamp set. Here's another and I still have more to share. I had seen this {card} on one of my favorite blogs, "The Queen's Scene". I think her card was square. I like square cards - until I go to put them in rectangular envelopes. So I adapted it to standard A2 size (4.25" x 5.5"). It's a landscape card that opens on the side - a little unusual but fun. The cake, cherry and greeting panel are all raised on stampin' dimensionals.
Recipe: Stamp Sets: On a Pedestal, On Your Birthday. Card Stock: chocolate chip, real red, whisper white. Stamp Pad: so saffron. Markers: real red, chocolate chip. Accessories: real red 1/2" striped grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals. Tools: cuttlebug swiss dot embossing folder, big shot, 1-1/4" square punch.

Razzleberry & Melon on a Pedestal

On my quest to make sample cards with the "On a Pedestal" stamp set, I ran across this {card}. I like it a lot. It's quite a bit different than the other cards. For fun detail, I stamped a second cake, cut out the icing, glittered it and popped it up over the first layer. There are lots of other fun touches to this card,
