Happy Halloween

Jeff and Kyle are still on the porch passing out candy, but I had to come in and show you the cutest trick-or-treaters ever! Ariel is our granddaughter, Emma. Buzz is our grandson, Will. And Woody is their friend, Jacob. And, of course, Peanut could not be left out. Our daughter is carrying the puppy purse and her friend said something about Paris ...

Little Boo is Back

Little Boo is back for more halloween fun. This card (found here) has more detail than the one I showed yesterday, but is still pretty simple. It is so much nicer in real life. For the greeting, there are 3 layers of white rectangles. I also scored double lines above and below the designer paper. With more layers and details, if you use a cute stamp, the card is still fun. I love that Stampin' Up! now offers single stamps in the catalog.

Recipe: Stamp Sets: Little Boo, Holiday Best. Card Stock: whisper white, basic black, pumpkin pie dsp. Ink: basic black stamp pad, old olive & pumpkin pie markers. Accessories: 5/8" black grosgrain ribbon, silver cord, dimensionals. Tools: 1-1/4 & 1-3/8" circle punches, Scor Pal.

Little Boo CAS

CAS = Clean and Simple. Simple card, yet still fun and festive. It would also be very quick for mass producing. I found it {here}.
.
I just received an order with this stamp in it yesterday. I know it's a little late, but I hadn't realized at first that I really do need this cute stamp. Come back tomorrow to see Little Boo again in a slightly more stepped-up card.

CAS Sympathy

During my blog surfing, I found this card. It's a nice and neutral sympathy card. Even though it has a butterfly, the simplicity and the colors make it not so feminine.
It's hard to see, but I added another piece of vanilla card stock beneath the stamped piece. I also pierced all the way around the square.
Thanks for visiting!

Pretty Sympathy Card

Hi.

The other day I shared that I needed to replenish my stash of Sympathy cards. Here's one I just finished up. I found it on one of my favorite blogs to visit: Simple and Sincere. This card is so beautiful, but I hope it stays in my stash for a very long time.

I colored the rubber stamp with my Stampin' Up! markers to get the 3 different colors on one image. I used the "Thoughts and Prayers" stamp set. It has a few very nice sentiments. I won't stamp one on the inside until it's time to use it - that way maybe I can match it to the recipient a little better.

Have a terrific day! Tawnya

Razzle Dazzle Wedding

Hello!

I saw this card on SCS and loved it. It's similar to a Christmas Tree I posted last week (here) in that it's very elegant, yet very simple. It has glitter, but not a lot of layers or embellishments.

Enjoy the rest of this beautiful fall day!

Praying for You...

Hi there.
.
My supply of Thinking of You, Praying for You, and Sympathy cards is severely depleted. Although I enjoy making all cards, it's sad that I've used so many of these this past year. It is great to have them on hand to send them quickly, so I am working to restock my stash. This is the first card (found here). I love it! It's feminine without being too futzy (let's pretend that's a real word - I learned it from my mom). Like I said in yesterday's post - this wide ribbon is awesome and so fun to work with.
.
Enjoy your weekend. I hope to squeeze some stamping into mine.

Cutest Pumpkin Patch

Hello
.
It is so much later in the day than I normally post. I made this card this morning before meeting a friend for lunch. We stayed and chatted longer than I expected we would. In case you ever wondered if the servers at Olive Garden refill your drinks for 4 hours, the answer is "no!". Once your bill is paid, you are cut off.
.
Anyway, back to the card. I just got my new Pumpkin Patch Stamp Set (yes, I did need it). Don't overlook this set - it can be used for more than just pumpkins. I copied this card from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I think it is so cute!! It is cuter in person than in the book and my picture. If I hadn't already finished my cards to mail to family/friends, this would be it. Maybe next year ...
.
This is only my second card to use the new wide ribbon. I love it!!! It is very soft and easy to work with. You will be seeing more of it soon.

See you soon!

October Stamp-A-Stack #4

Hello.

This is the fourth and final card from the October Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack. It is very simple, yet very elegant! The tree is glittered and layered on brushed gold card stock. This was my first time to use Heat & Stick powder and I love it! On the inside, we stamped a few snow flakes and "Peace on Earth" in gold metallic ink.
.
Here's the original.

Thanks for stopping by!

October Stamp-A-Stack #3

Hi there!
.
This is the 3rd card we made last weekend. I received favorable comments on all of the cards, but I think this was the group favorite. It was also the easiest ... hmmm... As always, it's prettier in real life.
.
Here's the card on SCS that inspired me. I changed it by adding the snowy hill. I did this to conserve the designer paper so I would have enough for a workshop. And as it turns out, I like the change better than the original.
.
Have a fabulous day!

October Stamp-A-Stack #1

Hi
.
Last night and this morning were my October Stamp-A-Stacks. Friends came and stamped a stack of 8 Christmas cards (2 each of 4 designs). This is the first one (inspired by this). I didn't realize how many steps there were in this card until I instructed new stampers. They were troupers though, and made beautiful cards!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Shimmering Christmas

Hello
.
Here's one more Christmas card that we will not be making at the Stamp-A-Stack this weekend. It doesn't show in the photo, but I added shimmer to the kraft layers. I used our new Champagne Shimmer Paint mixed with rubbing alcohol in a spritz bottle. It is so easy and now I can turn any color card stock into shimmer card stock. I saw this card and followed the tutorial on her blog. She's amazing - she actually makes and posts videos of most of her cards.
.
Have a great day!

Hello.
.
For my Stamp-A-Stack this coming weekend, we will be making 4 different Christmas cards. So a couple of weeks ago, I made 7 different Christmas card samples. I was determined to use the Delightful decorations Stamp Set with the coordinating punch. Here's one sample. I like it, but it is not the one I chose for the Stamp-A-Stack. I found the original design here.
.
Enjoy your day!

Shimmery Anniversary

Hello.
.
Yesterday was my parents' 55th wedding anniversary. Isn't that awesome?! Happy Anniversary, Mom & Dad!
.
This is the card I made for them. I saw it in the Stampin' Success magazine for demonstrators and couldn't wait to make one. After stamping on the bermuda bay cardstock, I sponged it (and the melon mambo heart, too) with Frost White Shimmer Paint.
.
Have a terrific weekend! I think the sun is finally starting to peek out. Yay!

Tent Topper Dasher Card

Hello.
.
Yesterday was dark, rainy and cold and Jeff had to work. Perfect time for me to iron, make our Halloween cards or do some ebay listings. Did I do any of those things? No - I made 2 more Christmas/winter cards. I'm so bad.
.
This was my first time to make a tent topper card. I actually kind of like it. This card was the push I needed to give it a try. The inside looks so pretty. Being square makes it unigue. Because the scallop circle extends over the square, the overall card dimensions are standard size to fit in the A2 envelope. The Dasher stamp certainly is taking cards away from the traditional Christmas colors.
.
If you don't see me back for a couple of days, you will know I'm lost in the pile of ironing.
.
Have a nice day!

Dasher

Hi.

It's not even Halloween yet and I have been making so many Christmas cards. This way you will have time to order your supplies and make your cards. Of course, you can ask me to make them for you.

Anyway, Dasher is currently Stampin' Up!'s number one selling stamp. It's available as a single stamp. This reindeer is so versatile - he can be country (like this card) or very elegant. There are tons of great ideas out there. I found this sample here. There are a few things about this card that don't show in the photo. 1) The white layer is popped up on the brown. 2) I used one of the swirly stamps from the Priceless stamp set in versamark ink on the red layer so it wasn't so plain. Sometimes subtle can make big impacts. 3) The big brown button is a fake. I followed the directions here to make it out of cardstock. Some people are just too clever!

Have a great day!

Raspberry Fizz & Cupcakes

Hi.

Here's another simple card. Some one thinks that the open white space at the top is too bare. I prefer to think of it as clean. I think this card is refreshing. I like having a variety of styles of cards to send so I can try and match them to different personalities of the people that receive them. I also liked being able to use some of my leftover retired Raspberry Tart designer paper without using it all up.

Have a great day!

Primitive Birthday

Happy Monday!

Yes, there is such a thing as a happy Monday :0)

Well, here's another "man" card with stars. Did you read the comment on the last man birthday star card (10/1/09)? Katie's right - I make man cards with stars because mine is such a star!

I found this card on a blog that I follow. You can check it out here. I love her style! Clean and simple (CAS), but not plain. With a different sentiment, she used it as a 4th of July card. But I needed to make some male birthday card samples, so ...

Have a terrific week!

Happy World Card Making Day

Today is World Card-Making Day!
.
Naturally, I spent the morning stamping cards. My stamping buddies and I stamped at Mom's house. This is the card that I took for everyone to make. (I found it here). I think the colors are great for this time of year without being traditional organge/brown. Not everyone needed 4 anniversary cards so we used a variety of greetings from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.
.
After my nap, I think I will go back to stamping. It is a holiday afterall, so it probably wouldn't be right for me to do chores or anything like that. :0)
.
Have a terrific weekend!

To the Nines with Stars

Hi.

I needed to make a "guy" birthday card. I had seen a similar card on this blog, then this CASE of it on another blog which is the one I decided to CASE. At first, I wasn't too sure about the sage shadow card stock. It does match the To the Nines Specialty Paper, but it's not too masuline. I do, however, like the finished card. It seems like a lot of the manly cards I make feature stars. I have another new one to share soon and it also has stars. Hmmm...

I hope your day is a good one!

Tawnya

Accessories: silver brads, star brads, chocolate chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals. Punches: small star, 5/8" circle, 3/4" circle, 1-1/4" circle, 1-3/8" circle.
